They announced on steam they are working on a patch to rework the entire combat system but it isn't out yet

I don't think it does nearly enough to justify its existence in its current state. Some things I would change would be
>Alex's Record attack changes where you have to press when you equip a different record, and the record itself needs to be bigger to let you press it more times (I probably get a rough average of about 10 presses without using slowdown)
>this same principle with the rest of the cast, right now their minigames barely change with equipment
>more dodge minigames, there's only 3 in the game and they fucking suck to play over and over especially when you have to do it more than once with an attack that hits multiple party members
>slowdown time should be increased, and it should be made more clear what replenishes that time
>Michael needs more moves, Photoshoot fucking hurts physically to pull off and doesn't do nearly as much damage late game to justify it and there should be a multi-targeted Mug Shot ability
>stat effects should be more used

Its honestly hard to say, Alex is kind of interesting for how much of a prick he is, but the game never shuts the fuck up about how much of a prick he is so it fucking sucks. There's literally a point in the game where his mother tells him to get a job and the game treats it like Alex snapped at his mother when nothing like that happened.
Michael's up there though with all the bizarre shit going on with him and his relationship with Alex though.

Probably Chondra, because she's basically a non-character. Which is kinda funny because she says herself that she's more than just her brother disappearing but that's pretty much all I've gotten from her so far.
The MC literally wears a shirt with Two Brothers on it, the soundtrack artwork is in every place with a record, hell the MC fucking namedrops it.

If you want an actual good Zelda-like with a gameboy aesthetic, try Anodyne. The first one. Second one sucks balls, but the first one is kino.

Wanna know something even better? They included Roy, the protagonist of Two Brothers, in YiiK, and he basically says that people were dumb for not enjoying his game.
