NOOOO YOU CAN'T SHOW SEPHIROTH EARLY IN MIDGAR

>NOOOO YOU CAN'T SHOW SEPHIROTH EARLY IN MIDGAR
>THEY HAVE TO BUILD HIM UP LIKE JAWS, A REAL MENACE

I'm not sure if you guys remember but this guy was just casually walking around Costa Del Sol looking for the Black Materia, probably with some goofy amount of sunscreen, and then was smoking fat blunts with Dio at the Gold Saucer. His body count is also a lot lower than Dyne's.

Epik...

youtube.com/watch?v=OTCDu0O_lt8

He's literally the trenchcoat guy from Grandma's Boy, pure cringe tryhard. LOOK AT ME FLY, CLOUD

>his guy was just casually walking around Costa Del Sol
What?

Sephiroth...
Epik...
One winged angel....

You mean all those not early segments of the game?

>bait and switching villains from Shinra to Sephiroth is somehow better than just building up Sephiroth from the start
Pretty epic meme my dudes

that whole stretch from junon to getting the dune buggy is literally like an hour of content almost immediately after you leave kalm

my favorite part was when sephy spoiled Aeriths death in the first hour of remake

Attached: aerith meeting.webm (640x360, 2.91M)

pre-lifestream Sephiroth: edgy teen burning down a village, pure autistic rage

post-lifestream Sephiroth: kills like... maybe 3 people? just casually asks NPCs like Dio if they've got intel on the Black Materia, and just leaves after signing some autographs

B A S E D

>pre-lifestream Sephiroth: incel
>post-lifestream Sepiroth: volcel

unironically based, since it's a sequel and it'd be weird not to have already played the OG

>building up Sephiroth from the start
they didn't do this either though.

sephiroth spoils aeriths death in the first hour

>Costa Del Sol
Which was... after Midgar.

fuck off lain

point is he's always been this low-test dweeb and any "build-up" to him being some horrifying menace ends the second he does his spooky ghost shit on the ship

given that literally happens (not counting kalm which is just a big-ass cutscene) an hour of gameplay after President Shinra dies... that's not a lot of buildup worth caring and whining about

>I'm not sure if you guys remember but this guy was just casually walking around Costa Del Sol looking for the Black Materia, probably with some goofy amount of sunscreen
That's interesting, I've been re-playing the original and just left Costa Del Sol and none of that happened.

>any "build-up" to him being some horrifying menace ends the second he does his spooky ghost shit on the ship
How so?

>given that literally happens (not counting kalm which is just a big-ass cutscene) an hour of gameplay after President Shinra dies
Why does that matter?

I can't recall Cloud speaking of Sephiroth as if he was anything but a based and redpilled cool guy at that point in the original game.

one of the npc say they saw him. the player never sees any of it

Excuse me? What did you just call me?

>the player never sees any of it
You seem to have seen him, casually walking around with a bunch of sunscreen.

sounds like you failed pretty hard at 100%ing the TV ratings during Rufus' parade if you didn't unlock this scene. Costa Del Sol has a bunch of missables like the Hojo scene.

Hey man, if you like the kh writing is better that's fine but not all of us are mongoloids.

But I don't like the original

And uh... where's the sunscreen?

seethe sakaguchi cuck, enjoy your Sephiroth
youtube.com/watch?v=-ltORkYAdVk

So, your favorite part is something that didn't happen?

Correct, you like the kh writing of the remake. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you're just retarded and not a bootlicker.

They did.

>you like kh writing
user, we just went over this. I don't like the original. Are you taking your medicine? Is everything ok?

>spoiled
Why the fuck are you so worried about spoiling Aerith's death? It's literally one of the most iconic vidya scenes of all time, even for people who haven't played FFVII.

>sakaguchi cuck
now you just went full retard

I bet the joke will be funny and original if you repeat it again.

>Why does that matter?
because if you're complaining about some alleged build up for Sephiroth being scrapped that only lasts for less than 3% of the game's playtime you have really strange priorities

people completely misremember this aspect of Sephiroth, the whole Jaws thing was something the developers aspired for but never panned out. And that's probably why they just cut the attempt out altogether in Reroll

this looks fake do you have video? I played it last week and don't remember seeing it

The only joke here is the original's kh writing

I wonder if all the imbeciles whining of "KH writing" actually only played KH in the last 15 years, or if they just don't play JRPGs period. Hey, you utter plebs, criticizing writing of FF7R is a low-hanging fruit, because there IS a well-known recent JRPG that clearly - to put it mildly - inspired additions to FF7R's plot. But you don't know about it, because you don't actually play video games.

I literally dropped the game when characters started spontaneously crying around aeris because of future visions or some shit

>that only lasts for less than 3% of the game's playtime
It lasts longer, but you seem to think the build-up ends on the boat, so I can understand why you'd have this opinion.

I would, however, still like you to explain how the build-up ends on the boat.

I've never played kingdom hearts before. is this a good thing?

But I did play KH3. Kind of disappointing to be honest.

>that's not a lot of buildup worth caring and whining about
Says who? The effectiveness of buildup isn't measured in terms of how long it takes to play out relative to a game's total runtime.

>in game characters being spoiled is the same as spoiling the audience
found the retarded shill everyone

The trenchcoat guy from Grandma's Boy was pure kino though

As someone who grew up with KH, I would describe it as "endearingly bad."

>Says who?
Says guy who says he doesn't like the original FF7 but acts like he's played the whole thing and knows jack shit.

Of course but he's the original tryhard we all grew up with.

And the imbecile made a post to confirm exactly what I said - he comprares FF7R with KH3 because KH is probably the only JRPG-related series he played in the last 15 years, maybe ever.

May it be that a substantial portion of haters are just disappointed KH fans who want to stick it to Nomura and are only familiar with the original FF7 through checking the wiki?

honestly the whole seven seconds to the end meme is very faithful to OG sephiroth

Okay, look. In the original game, Sephiroth's first ingame appearance is the Kalm flashback where he is not menacing at all until the very last scene. Then next time he appears, which is also the first time outside of a flashback, is on the cargo boat. After that, you don't see him until the Shinra Mansion basement. After that, he doesn't appear again until Temple of Ancients which is the first time since the flashback that he has a decent amount of dialogue. He drops by in Forgotten City for an FMV, and he finally has a lot of scenes in the Whirlwind Maze. But that's pretty much the last time you see him outside of his cameos in Cloud's lifestream hallucination thing and the final bossfight. Sephiroth is barely in the game despite how central of a character he is.

you might not have seen him in-game but it's clear that he spent hours playing Mog's House at the Gold Saucer
