Why did so many brainlets struggle to understand such a simple story?

How many brainlets got filtered by the apostrophe in l'Cie?

>literally every WRPG in decades stashes tons of background lore in the codex
>no one minds
>some jrpgs, like Bravely Default, do this too
>no one minds

Why did you throw a fit when FFXIII did it?

user, XIII, like Resident Evil 6, were dogpiled by brainlets who were mad at these games for doing the same shit they've been doing for a while in their respective franchises. People were expecting them to be something they weren't and getting buttmad when Final Fantasy continued to be convoluted and melodramatic and Resident Evil continued to be a campy horror themed action series. It's happening again with Remake. It will always happen the loudest here.

Fuck you if you can't tell the obvious decline of a once great series

You already made this thread.

Fuck you for uncritically keeping opinions you had as a child and assuming the problem is with someone else.

You can't even name one thing RE6 did right.

>you can't name one thing that meets my subjective and undefined standards.
Yep. Busted. I really don't see any point in continuing all of this. You're only here to change my mind by regurgitating talking points you likely read here and if we're being honest, I could argue your side better than you could. If you really want to know what redeeming qualities these games have you could always do a Google search. Unfortunately that won't confirm your bias so I doubt you'll do that. After all you've had most of a decade to do it already. I'm sure you'll continue to find enjoyment in repeating what you've read here.

Because all the dialogue was doused with in universe lingo and several of the conversations were redundant to the point of confusion

Because hating XIII makes you cool on the internet.

>for doing the same shit they've been doing for a while in their respective franchises
You didn't play the previous FF titles then

Because at least wrpgs try to at least ease the player into the world. FFXIII just starts bombarding me with shit I cant possibly have any context for at the very start

FF10 is one long hallway, 7 and 9 offer very little freedom. 8 11 and 12 have little to do with the rest of the series.

NO TOWNZ

>Because at least wrpgs try to at least ease the player into the world.
Name one.
>DOVAHKIN
>OY HES A SOURCE YA KNOW DON'T LET HIM AXII YA

because there wasn't a clear antagonist and the cast was only doing what they were doing because of vague "you gotta" reasons

Dovahkiin was literally explained in the fucking trailer

>all the people who defend X and trash XIII when they're the same shit

The difference is those games had towns, NPCs and minigames

>>literally every WRPG in decades stashes tons of background lore in the codex
>>no one minds
>>some jrpgs, like Bravely Default, do this too

>Why did you throw a fit when FFXIII did it?

Because the lore in FFXIII was boring and the characters were one dimensional.

13 is good, my biggest complaint is how people claim Hope is annoying. Especially when it seems like they all quit before his character gets fleshed out.
Imagine you are caught up in the purge and are forced into combat when you are fucking 14. Only to then be roped into a journey you sure as hell didnt sign up for all while trying to process your mum just got killed.
Yeah I would be whiny too.

>muh towns
Why is this even better than a Codex? In practice, towns are just a far more tedious way to get the same information.
>but I could explore towns in previous games!
Exploring towns in previous games was little more than walking through a short PNG slideshow. There's more detail and ambiance in the cutscene of Snow & Serah's engagement than all of Midgar in FF7 original.

haven't played 13 but re6 is fucking boring

yessssssss give me more cutscenes instead of gameplay

What do you mean? All of these anons would be a hardcore badass like sephiroth if that happened to them. heh... the only thing keeping me weak is just how easy life has becme..

It had one of the few Yas Forums approved black characters, he was cool

>but the cutscenes are detailed
you say that like it's a good thing. i would rather walk around a detailed town than have it spoonfed to me in a cutscene.

>gameplay
Keep scrolling to the other side of that PNG user.

>i would rather walk around a detailed town

I would say keep watching that cutscene, but I know you'll be there for the next half hour anyway

Did it take too long for the main cast to get together and stay together? It's been awhile but feels like the first few hours everyone's split up and running around in pairs.

Attached: 1418023816399.png (979x662, 206.68K)

you don't get everyone together until like Chapter 10

This lasts for a while, but it's more fun for the combat system

What are they looking at?

I hate every single one of these characters.
