I would be impressed if they had the balls to do some brand new suit designs ala Dark/Light/P.E.D. instead of falling back on Power/Varia/Gravity to cash in on nostalgia.

For Metroid Prime 4 Samus will very likely have a modified version of her Varia Suit. My guess depends on what kind of feel the game will go for. If they go back to roots then classic old school like Prime 1 or if they keep the stylized modern look then MP2/MP3. I'd rather them stay away from MP3 seeing how it went more cartoony than MP2 did but whatever, it depends what Nintendo wants the game to look like.
Metroid five as in post fusion they'll start out with the new complete fusion suit. At that point you're going to get upgrades the way you did in fusion or they'll go back to traditional methods. One thing I'll say for sure is if it turns out Samus's suit has permanently changed then you'll just get upgrades downloaded and systems created at the molecular level. Basically the way nanobots would work.

Doubt it but Nintendo can surprise. That suit and the complete fusion suit were the more interesting versions from what I've seen.
