Is there an in-universe explanation for diversity in WoW?

Shadowlands will be introducing new customization options, including human races (as opposed to European humans with darker skin) and black blood elves. Is there a lore explanation for the human races? I know that the idea that humans have a variety of skin tones isn't new to the game, but these new updates have brought it to my attention. I have seen no in-game explanation for where they come from or why they exist.

Is this purely a self-insert mechanic for black and asian players? Because this really pisses me off.

Human races can be explained.
Dark High Elves can't.

Yes they are, they stood to close to the sun well and got burnt as fuck.

>Is this purely a self-insert mechanic for black and asian players?
Bingo.
And Chinese players will pick the European one anyway.

There's barely any reasoning. One could surmise that humans in this universe were never conflicted with skin color. Generations of humans born near the equator generally had darker skin.

The best explanation is that Warcraft was initially written as a basic fucking "knights vs orcs" themed strategy game, and over the years of success, the writers had to come up with a lot of relatable marketing shit along the way until something clicks in the tiny minds of you sensitive fucks to finally buy their stupid shit.

But it's okay when whites are able to self-insert, right?

jeeeeeeesus cunt honestly who gives a fuck? fuck I am so sick of race, race, RACE RACE RACE RACE RACE! my fucking god every cunt in the fucking world can't shut the fuck up about RACE

why does this bother you. look if you're a fucking racist, then just don't use them.

...

Yes.

Get over it man. If you're still playing WoW at this point you've already proved you have no standards for gaming so don't get all fake outraged now

stormwind humans are americans

Outside of a few sensitive spergs most people dont care about black or asian humans. You could already make a black human from the getgo just not as stereotypically detailed here. Asians are a stretch but theres already humans in WoW with asian names.

>Now there's no difference between horde and alliance races at all.

see how its a fantasy world so it doesn't have to be explained.

imagine actually caring about a feature so small

I don't get this false controversy, niggers have been in WoW since vanilla

Hard to get angry about this shit after the corrupt-a-wish void elves.

>caring about WoW lore

I like how these diversity choices always end up being so similiar

>we need to show diversity
>I know lets make a black female with an afro, nobodys done that before

This desu. Wow expansions are a fucking mess
>OH YEAH AND UHH REMEMBER WARCRAFT 3? DEATH KNIGHTS ARE JUST NOW A PLAYABLE CLASS
>OH AND UHHHHHHHH GOBLINS AND WORGEN. HAVE YOU HEARD OF GILNEAS? ITS BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME BUT UHHH STARTING NOW THERES A BIG SIEGE WHERE THERE ARE TONS OF WORGEN AND THEYRE PLAYABLE TOO
>OH AND THE MAELSTROM IS ACTUALLY JUST PANDALAND LMAO

>still playing the dead faction in 2020

Imagine going through that much trouble to make an overused joke

Show me an asian human in Warcraft 1-3.

>Is there an in-universe explanation for diversity in WoW?
Yeah. The same way we have it dingus. Black and asian people in a fantasy video game shouldn't be a foreign concept.

That's not an afro though

WoW is non-canon since Cata

Yeah, imagine being this based

Humans, gnomes, jungle trolls, draenei, and blood elves have no explanation for the variation in their hair or skin color. In fact it's entirely possible gnomes dye their hair funky colors and belves darker shades.

Why does this bother you in an MMO where you make your own characters? Are you mentally ill?

Are they from different kingdoms? How come we haven't heard of these kingdoms before?
If they coexist in the same kingdoms then why aren't they interbred into some kind of brownish color instead of having very distinct racial features. Does that mean there is segregation and the different races don't get along?
