JRPG THREAD

What jrpg are you playing right now?

I'm enjoying VII REMAKE a lot I'm currently at the pillar being attacked by Shinra, now I'm playing X|X-2

Gonna play Dragon's Dogma later

I'm playing hacker's memory. The people who said it was a better alternative to pokemon are retarded, this really is one of the most boring garmes I've ever played with even cringier humor than nintendo treehouse translations

i'm playing tales of symphonia right now
i'll play rebirth once i'm done with it, i don't know anything about it other than kureaaaaaa memes so it should be interesting

FF4 on a PSP emulator while using my Joycons.
It's fucking good.
I'm gonna pick up Trials of Mana though I probably won't get to play it until a month or two from now

I'm playing Dragon Quest Heroes 2. It's fun so far, just started it. I like the minion system, it's kind of cool, but I hate how limited they are and how you lose all of them if you go back to Arccordia. Biggest gripe for me is how the entire game is somehow a blocked scene so I can't use spotify while I play on the PS4.

Recommend me JRPGs with scrumptious asses

It was obviously mostly meant for Digimon fans and it only takes a minute to google the game for a very accurate idea of what it was going to be like, I don't know what you were expecting.

Personally I'd argue that even with how boring a lot of that game was it's still at least equal to Pokemon. You have to remember that you're comparing a long running series with like a trillion dollars behind it (not to mention brand recognition) and a consistent base gameplay style to build off for years, against a series with not even remotely the same amount of budget by a ludicrous amount and it's also essentially their very first game since it's predecessors have entirely different gameplay.
The Pokemon vs Digimon debate has always been completely retarded and based on nothing at all, they're both successful series with different origins and directions that have nothing to do with each other.

Same but also not same. Just finished the Legend Cup and had a lot of fun with it.
Calling it an alternative to Pokemon IS retarded though. It's very obvious that the audiences will not overlap and most people attempting to draw this comparison are fags that are just mad at Pokemon and don't actually give a shit about Digimon, same as they did with that shitty MMO.

Alternating between
Persona 5 R
FF12TZA
Tokyo Mirage Sessions
Trails of Cold Steel

I'm playing OG FFVII for the first time. It's real solid. Aged but solid. I see why people fell in love with it.

Trials of mana mainly. Some chrono trigger on Switch emulator.
Platinumed FF7r just the other day so done with that.

Goddamn, what game is that? Idk any JRPG that lets you see upskirt liek that with fully modelled panties

finished FF7R, will probably do hard mode later but just want a spacer, doing a new run of OG FF7,. might start Trials soon depending on how good Linux support is

what should I get from the big in japan sale? kinda new to jrpg

I can't believe people are playing the remake before the original

FFX remake is atrocious and you should feel bad for playing it.

yes

fits the game perfectly then

So, I'm currently watching this walkthrough about Xenogears (Computer is not that strong for emulation) and I'm really enjoying it. The guy told me that animal enemies will not drop gold while human enemies will. That's pretty smart and innovated for an old JRPG. Also the deathblows are cool.

>(Computer is not that strong for emulation)
>can't even handle a psx game
Are you using an actual potato?

what a sad existence it must be having to watch someone else play a game because your computer can't even emulate a ps one game.

Haven't played a jrpg since smtiv released. Now I have a bunch of free time and I'm tempted to get one. I have a voucher left so I could get a Nintendo published jrpg for $40 but I'm open to other recommendations

My dog-ass laptop runs ePSXe just fine. Try that one instead of RetroArch. The latter is meant for stronger computers because it's a piece of shit that runs slower than it should

Xenogears has possibly the worst gameplay of any JRPG ever made. It's merit is 100% story and music.

Alright you guys have hyped it like hell, I just bought it, Final Fantasy XII, I hope it's good.

No, my computer (laptop) is a few years old and I'm afraid of pushing it through it's limit. I just don't want to break it during this outbreak. I usually don't shut down my computer and I know that can cause it to slow down badly to the point of reset.

I don't care honestly, since it have commentary. It's fun for me because you can learn things and when I do try it out, it can still be fun.

you should know by now that there are countless XII haters, it’s clearly very divisive

i've been streaming bof4
game took a while to get going, but ever since the trip to wyndia to visit the wind dragon, it's been a good ride.

Recettear

>you guys have hyped it like hell
Uh no, we told you the game is shit. There's one redditor shilling it.

>HD remaster
You poor fuck

Gonna play Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga
