Campaign is just as bad as Halo 4's but I agree that 5's MP is solid. I hated the lootbox shit at first but it's allowed the game to have the most armors out of any other game in the series.

As an overall product, it's shit:

The campaign is very arguably the worst in the series, even if you aren't giving CE slack for it's age: Mission 2's pretty damn cool and it's got some interesting envoirments and setpieces, but the story is a complete waste of time and the level design is really, really boring and generic. Furthermore, the MP is online only, so whenever MS decides to shut the servers offline, you won't be able to play MP, leaving you just with that totally medicore campaign. The art style is also 343i's nu-halo stuff.

HOWEVER, that actual MP itself is really quite good: People who haven't played it meme about it being CoDified, but in reality it removes and undoes a lot of Reach and 4's negative changes: Even starts are back, loadouts and armor abilities are gone, perks are gone, ordinance/killstreaks are gone, etc. And while it still has sprint and some of the new mechjanoics it introduces like charge are broken, for the most part the new movement abilities 5 introduces mesh pretty well with Halo's design philsophy and emphasis on vertical map design (something 5 does the best since CE and 2) and platforming. It's also, at least before updates, the only Halo game (other then CE but CE only had like 8 guns) to have most of it's weapon sandbox worth using.

THe forge is also elder-god tier, and is almost a fucking dev-editing tool given how much shit you can dow ith it: Multiple larhger then forge world canvasses, object grouping, downloadable/uploadable prefabs, limited texture editing and sctripting/programming tools, time of day and weather effects, placable visual and sound effects like flames or sparks or the sounds of gunfire, etc.

tl;dr

Forge and customs browser were good. Not good enough to justify the dumpster sludge that was the full game but good. Also those things weren't in the game at launch. 343 is an incompetent developer.

Its amazing how the best Halo mp wise is completely dead, and was totally irrelevant since day fucking one. But it was the best Halo mp, guys, remember that. Lets just eternally blame bunglefags because our game and 343 sucks.

Don't know for sure, but i do know that after playing halo 4 when it launched that i would never play another 343 game. Halo 4 was such a fucking steaming pile of shit. Who was the motherfucker that though promethians was a good idea?
