Game is still absolutely gorgeous after 6 years
What game?
you say that like thats a hard feat to accomplish
Yes it is
HAVEN'T PLAYED IT BUT THE ART DIRECTION AND GRAPHICS ARE VERY ACCURATE AND VERY ATTRACTIVE WHICH IS RARE IN A LICENSED VIDEO GAME
GAMEPLAY LOOKED TEDIOUS AND BORING BUT MAYBE IT'S JUST TOO DEEP FOR ME
So how many faggots played this crouch-walking the entire time not knowing the Alien doesn't hear you walking despite your footsteps sounding loud as fuck?
>So how many faggots played this crouch-walking the entire time not knowing the Alien doesn't hear you walking despite your footsteps sounding loud as fuck?
me
NAME ANOTHER GAME RELEASED IN 2014 THAT STILL LOOKS AS GOOD AS THIS ONE
is that the aluminum falcon
The game would have ascended if the Alien was silent and you couldn't know if it was around.
The Alien also should be able to die and there should be more Aliens at the same time.
Also pulse rifle.
Depends if you're the type of person who complained about Mr.X in 2remake. I loved the entire thing. People say the game is too long and drags on but I felt pretty elated finishing a horror game that actually made me feel exhausted by the end.
The developers did an amazing job with the atmosphere. You really felt like you were alone in a giant space station being hunted
finally got around to finishing this this month
honestly don't know if i liked it or not but it was alien so i had to play it
Not really. Ugly 1080p trash
Outlast was released a year earlier
It only needs ray tracing support to be timeless forever
Crouch walking is a retarded concept anyway. No one does that in real life.
I didn't complain because you just go around a table or go into a safe room and he's fucked.
That game was boring trash and I don't remember the graphics being anything notable. You spend most of the game looking through a camera on night vision if I remember correctly.
JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T SQUAT DOESN'T MEAN ALL OF US LACK THE ABILITY TO SUPPORT OURSELVES ON BENDED KNEE
The androids were scarier imo
One of the games this last century that i could go back and play again and again. Nightmare mode everytime.
Also the DLC content was 10/10.
Game graphics have peaked. Now it's just diminishing returns with every step.
>tut-tut
This is one of the few NPCs that isnt violent towards you but you can lure the alien to them and it will kill them
Stop yelling, you're making my head hurt
hard and nightmare with unpredictable alien mod was interesting. kind of easy on occasion since you could go for a long time without meeting the alien but felt better than always having it hover just one room away. on hard i never felt like i needed to use items or weapons other than the flamethrower which was kind of disappointing though
It is. Especially when the game company had only have done 4X strategy games before. Some longtime FPS company couldn't even do it this good (like Gearbox's dogshit attempt at the previous Alien game)
Gonna ask. Does the Alien not come down and come after you in select parts of the game on hard? I played the seegson comms part in Normal going full rambo on hostile humans towards the end of the game burning them alive with molotovs and nailing them with the railgun. Alien never bothered to show up.
top notch design and atmosphere but the ai is absolute aids
Im not sure. Hard is how the devs intended the game to be played. The alien is locked out of certain areas though sometimes when you show up for the first time.
I really tried to like the game
>fell asleep because how boring the hiding mechanic is.
The Joes' crude look was inspired by 1970s resuscitation dummies.[1] The androids were originally intended to have brown, rubbery hair, but this was dropped in favor of the sleeker bald-headed design.[2]
The androids' behavior, and by extension Seegson's corporate policy, was inspired by a sign that Alien: Isolation writer Will Porter read in a North Carolina McDonald's restaurant in 1999 ā 'Why not ask about our orange drink dispenser?'[3] This statement later evolved into the Joes' line, "Why not ask me about Sevastopol's safety protocols?" but more so struck Porter with its absurdity. "To me, this is the voice of Seegson," Porter later said in an interview. "An ineffectual boardroom (forever leaking talent to the likes of Weyland-Yutani) sending out nothing but self-deluding missives that have little to no use on Earth ā let alone for the real people suffering on a dilapidated space station floating alone on the edge of space."[3] Fellow writer Dion Lay went on to explain the Joes' vocal patterns, likening them to "those automated messages you get when you phone a call center ā the content of the words are polite and friendly but it's lacking any real sincerity".[3] The darkly comedic way these polite messages are often at odds with the Joes' murderous actions stemmed from Lay's love of cult British television, which often contained similar abstract, understated horror.
Didn't some modder prove that the alien is tethered to you making actual long-term stealth meaningless and turning it into a game of surprise hide and seek?
Also Dan Abnett who wrote tons of 40k books helped write this game.
Loved how shitty seegson was compared to wey-yu
Is this alien isolation or soma.
Which one should I play first btw?
I love the cyberpunkish setting of the Alien universe. All the stuff you learn through the game about the corps is great and the setting is so under utilized
IF YOU AREN'T POSTING WITH CAPITAL LETTERS YOU AREN'T GOING TO MAKE IT
Soma. Mostly because it's easier and doesn't stress you as much. If you do play Alien, look into downloading the unpredictable alien mod, unless you like the Alien being magnetically attached to you.
SHALL NOT
This needs a VR ray tracing version.
Nobody cares about 40k
fuck chromatic aberration
Anyone else a little bitch and kept quitting during the hospital section?
im too scared to ever play this
When I first played the game that section gave me intense anxiety. Ive never had a game freak me out so much. I dreaded even playing it.
When I played this game, I got up to the medical lab.
Should I give it another download? Is there a lot more in the game that I missed?
To me the story felt a bit nonexistent and the station and the npcs and their logs sterile and dull.
Wish they hadn't removed the story elements and audio logs that actually made the events that happened on the station before ripley arriving interesting. I can see why they changed the game from being more like Aliens and the player finding more info about the past events and there actually being some story to the current version that is closer to Alien but I don't like it. Sure, it is more atmospheric and tense and you feel more isolated but it is also less interesting and memorable. I can see the devs removing many of the audio and text logs due to them revealing that there are possibly multiple xenos and a hive on the station but the logs that got left are just dull and boring
>most innovative, well-made, solid all-around alien game in ages
>other titles were the shitty AvP game and Gearbox's colonial marines
>those games were commercial successes and this wasn't
bro do i have a game for you
Yeah, took me over a month to actually get through it cause Iād quit at several parts.
>love the retro futurism visuals it has
>can't fucking stand the forced stealth shit you have to go through so the alien doesn't oneshot you
I'd like to admire it up close, but honestly, I can't be bothered with these kinds of games.
Outlast looks like complete shit what the fuck are you talking about, it barely looks better than FEAR 3
You sound like you just suck ass
>I'd like to admire it up close
I bet you're the kind of person who would stare right into an alien egg that just opened.
It's your shitty game console's fault that your copy will only ever be 1080p, faggot
