is it playable with keyboard?
It says it isn't out yet
What's a good tutorial for this game? Can't into car physics intuitively.
What do you mean? It behave pretty similar to IRL driving on gravel.
I don't think it needs a tutorial really beyond knowing how to drive.
WRC8 came out a year ago.
It says September 2020 though?

Or is this not the right one?
No, I don't think I know how perform advanced driving techniques on dangerous terrain just because I used to drive to school and work everyday on flat asphalt at moderate speeds.
Sega Rally 2 is still the good standard.
The Steam Version is a year late it seems.
Dirt Rally physics are as simple as slam the brakes before + into the turn and don't go so fast the half-baked suspension physics kill you on a jump
Wait was this an EGS thing I have to pirate?
It's possible, but you're better off investing a couple of minutes to set up mouse steering

im playing on xbox controller, using 4wd cars, why do i have to gas and brake at the same time to turn better? letting go of gas and hitting brake doesnt turn for shit.
also using fpv, why does the car seem so wide? im hitting everything that seems like i shouldnt and dont in other games.
you have 3 options to brake in these games
>slow down
>use the brakes
>use the handbrake
learn when and how to combine them to do squeaky clean and lean turns
teach me
DR tracks are notorious for their triangle shaped boundaries which will send you flying into orbit if you clip them. You cannot go off track slightly and recover because even the smallest stuff on the sidelines will act like a block of solid concrete
I can't, you have to throw yourself at it and learn
Why are you guys making it seem like it's really hard to drive in this game, it's really not that difficult to learn
Is 2.0 better or worse?
Once you're chasing tenths the only difficulty comes from managing what little time you spend on the ground for steering, thanks to moon gravity and borked suspension bottoming out for a second and third bounce. Finland especially is a fucking chore because every consecutive jump increases your chances of blowing a tire for no reason
my advice would be to learn with 1960's cars as they are the slowest and build on that. Then start learning driving different drivetrain 4x4 with R4 Subaru or Evo X ,front wheel in F2 kit car category, rear wheel drive is the hardest one to learn I suggest Ford Escort mk2 for that.
Don't always go flat out, its hard to feel the speed in a game when you dont really see it and feel it. Don't rely on handbrake too much only for hairpin turns, its better to brake hard before turn and gradually pushing throttle as your cars starts to slide and as you get to apex of a turn center the steering to help the car grip the floor and accelerate.
if you can get the complete edition with all the dlc for cheap, it's better since it's essentially the same game with more content
Slightly better physics, way worse price for content ratio with ridiculous nickle-and-dime DLC policy
just pirate it, fuck paying for DLC
Dirt rally 2 obviously inb4 muh dlc yada yada yeh it sucks. But its basically the samge game with more cars maps
this
I played a bit of it and it felt the same but I wasn't sure if it changes later, but I kinda hate the way the guy giving callouts talks
might pirate it on PC if I can run it, got it "free" on PS+
yes. Apparently the physics are better than previous game but some stages are reused. Also nobody plays it because EGS + literally zero marketing + already niche game
the answer will always be RBR
Does anything get fucked up by pirating it with always online or something? Never even knew it was out, gonna nab the fitgirl.
This and DR2.0 are the dark souls of rally games. Play on very easy you will still lose. What will fuck you up are the penalties some are 4 secs other 20 secs the leader never stops NEVER.
its not that good senpai a little too hard
its not even playable with a controller senpai
I beat some tracks with the controller but yeah you will need a wheel.
I feel like I understand what the Group B guys lived through, since I cannot fucking control any of the more high-performance cars in this game at all.
Or finish a track in Sweden without crashing
if you crash or go out of track you have to restart always. One mistake and you are fucked just like dark souls
wtf are you talking about senpai faster cars are easier to control because they have better technology in them
just don't go off track and keep the throttle pinned lol
streamable.com
Do you guy change the cars performance before starting a race? What do you change exactly?
keep in mind the group B cars in both dirt rall games handle way better than they did IRL
floor it in a peugeot and you'd end up throttle oversteering into a ditch once its turbo the size of a ship engine kicked in
don't get sufficient angle in the audi before a corner through weight transfer and you understeer skid off into the trees, since differentials were just at the beginning of their development and the thing refused to turn in
oh and they outright did not have handbrakes, you couldn't just hit the panic lever like you do in DR and get some oversteer for free whenever
