Why are these cunts such hard work to down
They constantly spam accurate lasers that whittle your health down to nothing in seconds, if you move around enough to dodge their attacks it's hard to hit them. I've tried with Fencer, Wing Diver and Ranger and I struggle unless I get lucky and knock them off at range with long range guns.
I'm on the first night mission in the refinery, and I've been playing on hard but I'm probably just going to bump the difficulty down to normal. Maybe then I'll stand a chance.
EDF5 thread?
Why are these cunts such hard work to down
In a slightly related topic, I swear I remember seeing webms on here roughly before or during release where a fencer was going around fighting giant large headed versions of the soldier.
Please tell me I didn't imagine it and it is real. That line makes a lot more sense if this was cut content but I can't find anything on it.
Either blow off a leg so they can't move, blow off their gun arm so they can't shoot, or shoot them in the head to stun them. If you're having trouble with Colonists, the Cosmonauts are going to wreck your shit.
>play fencer
>dash + boost jump straight at them
>rapid fire shotgun and jackhammer while im right in there face
>they die almost instantly
Ez enemy type but really fun to fight. Edf5 is such a good game
Also, learn to use cover to block their shots and pop out once they stop. And don't aggro the whole map.
5.1 when
This, git gud.
Every EDF is a guaranteed 100 hours of my life lost.
Only a hundred?
I've been trying that but my own shitty aim has been defeating me.
It doesn't help that I don't really have any good sniping weapons. The Gallic Heavy Cannon for Fencer is cool but if I miss I'm basically buggered since I'm planted in place doing the reload animation while they shower me in energy cum.
I have zero long range weapons for Wing Diver, as well.
I think maybe I'm trying to walk before I can run with playing through on hard for my first time; I'll drop it down to normal and see if that helps at all.
>I think maybe I'm trying to walk before I can run
Or even run before I can walk, fuck. I feel like I might just be having a stroke or something.
Use shotguns as Ranger. Use rapiers or lances as WD. Use jackhammer/shotgun as Fencer.
Bullying frogs is the best feature of the game.
Double hand cannons on fencer will work until mid harder. You'll stunlock them until they die. They only stop being useful because you need more mobility than what they provide.
Holy shit, that's awesome.
I feel like I'm really low on good weapons at the moment. Are there any good early missions to grind for boxes?
Blasting these fuckers with the air raider's artillery cannons is the best shit in the world. Limbs flying everywhere and stuff.
You;re gonna have fun when the armored aliens show up. Basically these cunts but 10x worse as you have to blow the armor off a part to do any damage.
The mission right before that one. It's the mission with just red ants on the beach. That's a staple EDF mission that's used for farming in every game.
Humans have wonky physics
My god... they're just like us!
Ah, that makes sense. I did do that mission a few times to try out a few different air raider weapons.
Also is there anything wrong with playing on normal? Aside from me being a bitch, it doesn't cause problems does it - I switched to hard at some point for reasons I forget now.
oh boy, you're gonna miss these cunts once you get into the later missions
>Also is there anything wrong with playing on normal?
In this game, everything. In 4.1 it was more of a choice. In 5 the weapons start from level 0 on both normal and hard, meaning you have to use shit weapons again after beating normal. In 4.1 hard weapons basically continued where normal left off.
If this is your first EDF, then normal would probably be best to start on. Your weapon drops won't be as good, though.
Weapon stats can mitigate that some what. A maxed lower level weapon can be better than a low stat higher level weapon of the same kind.
Not my first, but my last was 2025 and I didn't beat it. If is correct then that's probably why I switched to hard difficulty. I probably just need to git gud as people have said or hold off a bit until I can play calmly without losing my shit.
do we know if EDF6 is in the works at all?
What I did was play though normal first as one class, then hard mode with all the classes. Since drops are shared between all classes in 5, that normal playthrough should next you enough armor and weapons for all your classes to be decently prepared for hard mode. Also, playing online helps.
I use the same color scheme for my fencer. He looks like a ninja turtle.
holy shit you noob shoot their limbs just wait until you fight the elite ayys
I wish D3 would let them use the massive amount of money they made off EDF5 to make something new. Enix owns RAD so they'd have to make a spiritual successor if they wanted another RAD game. I like EDF but give it a rest for now.
