I need a good tower with great airflow please. Were gonna be getting 100 F soon.

if you're in college you may as well get a cheap gaming laptop since you can actually use that around campus
no reason to waste money building a giant rainbow pc when you're in college

you wont get a good gayming pc for under $500
just get a console

Why do you need a budget build when we all got 1200 trump bucks nigga????!!!

>since you can actually use that around campus

OP you don't need a laptop for school. Taking notes on a laptop during class is a joke and will probably distract you, also the fact that writing down shit helps keep it in your mind better. Most universities have computers in their libraries if you need to get together with other people to work on shit

Just build a little cheap system around a G series Ryzen like the Ryzen 5 3400G. You can put it in a big case and add a dedicated GPU later, or you can build it in a barebones kit like the Asrock A300W to get it in a small form factor on a tight budget.

lol PC has no games buy a PS4 and Switch fagget.

Ebay used dual CPU workstation + ebay used GPU + selling off excess parts from the workstation to recover costs

Look for used last (PS3-PS4 soon) parts. You should be able to get most of the parts for like $80-100 soon. It really depends on what you want to play though, if you're looking for "modern"/current titles you're going to have a bad time for a strict $500 budget. For that you want $800, $1200 at max.

A 9th gen i5/7 and a gtx 1660ti will run you like $450, thats a pretty decent combo

The best budget build you can get is a surplus office PC, preferably free. Slap a low end gpu in there and you’ve got yourself a 1080p60fps machine when you run games on low-medium. I ran with something like this for ~3 years and it served me well. If you have friends who are PC gamers don’t hesitate to try and bum old parts off of them too. With a budget of $500 you want to spend as little as possible on the ancillary shit like the case and motherboard.

>~$150 refurbished tower from amazon with 8gb ram 1tb hdd and the best cpu you see
>look up gpu prices on ebay and pair it with a suitable psu
a used GTX950 is probably under $100. keep in mind higher gpu's need stronger psu's to run proper

1060 6gb + i7 2600k + 8gb ram

This, I own all three and after doom eternal pc is sad. So is the switch kinda..

Laptops are a gimmick and retarded. No one does work on a fucking laptop. They have stupid shitty tiny keyboards and screens. They're hot as fuck. Break all the time. Are a shittier version of a desktop. No one actually uses them in class unless they are a retarded sperg.
>gaming
>laptop
What a joke. You spend $1500 dollars to have a worse screen, worse keyboard and shittier components. Only a fool buys a laptop because they kid themselves into thinking they needed some dog shit on the go computer. Pro Tip: You don't.

If his budget is $500, he will not get good performance on a laptop of that price.

Good chance he's a dependent, they don't get that check. Full time college students don't get it either (I am one so it sucks).

Look at the non-filers section of the IRS website. Pretty sure college cunts get the cash too.

I just want to get a friggen prebuilt, due to low IQ, I don't care about money, gonna be dead in 3-5 years anyway, or maybe not, who knows.

I want to be be intel / nvidia based, so no amd / radeon stuffs, and I want it to be "best in slot" aka the best pieces, which I believe to be an i9-9900k and a gtx 2080 ti. I don't care if there are cheaper versions that are weaker, I want raw power.

64g ram minimum. Why? Cause shit like Path of Exile fucking memory leak and the longer I can go before having to close and re-open the game or reboot the better, and cause who the fuck knows how many gb of ram a game needs in the future? I mean Rust started with like 2g of ram then over time it ramped the fuck up now it's 10g minimum.

It's gotta have an optical port for a mixamp, at least 2 usb on the front for a mic, 3+ on the back for keyboard (takes 2) and mouse (takes 1.)

I don't care about gucci lighting or how the case looks. It's literally never being seen by another random human ever. It just needs to be in a case because if the roof leaks I don't want water droplets to fry it immediately or if the ground becomes soaked for it to die that way either.

A big fat juicy PSU because if in the future things require more power then I won't have to pay to have it all ripped out and replaced.

Prebuilt cause I am TERRIBLY LOW IQ and exist in the worst area possible so NO ONE IS TRUSTWORTHY. I'm not flying out to a nice area to have a PC built by some old cuck that's going to have a flashlight in his mouth that he drops and drools on my PC as he builds it with no static arm band thingy.

I only want to buy from a reputable website, not some random redditor trying to turn a profit, and no ebay either.

Front glass panel with triple fans behind is the epitome of retarded case design, even with watercooling.

But seriously at $500 you really should be buying used, you'll get so much more for your money. Look at budget Ryzen chips, used GPUs. Figure out what games you want to play at what settings, resolution, and framerates and go on YouTube and look at build videos with those games benchmarked. Consider scavenging an old family PC and sticking a graphics card in that bitch like I did with my first computer. Just don't be an idiot and spend $500 on a card to run in a ten year old grandma PC because you'll bottleneck that thing so hard.

A used prebuilt with a new GPU and PSU is probably the cheapest way to go, but admittedly it isn't as fun as building your own machine

how can retards like this earn enough cash for a $3k pc jesus

Get a Skytech Blaze 2

>Budget PC
Literally no such thing. If you're trying to put something together as cheap or cheaper than a console, you're going to be severely under-powered performance-wise and better off getting a console. Just build something mid-tier that is on par with consoles, and you'll be good for the next five or so years typically. But with the next gen coming soon, you're better off waiting until that rolls out, the next gen of AMD and Nvidia rolling out, that way you can get the PS5/Series X console equivalent specs for cheaper

Wait until May/June for B550 and Ryzen 3, those are gonna make for extremely compelling budget combos. For a GPU, consider a second-hand RX580 or something, nothing new worth your time and money costs less than 200.

By not buying anything ever except food and wagecucking for 13 years.

Also youtuber.

take a small loan and pay it back over 8 years like a smart man

Get an Enthoo, dude.

What are you hoping to play on it?

This is the most retarded post I've seen all day, very impressive.

whats with the 4 disc driver slots, is this y2k

Based

Tried making a partlist for you OP:pcpartpicker.com/list/Nv3Kdm
I would not recommend buying a PC rn though, the prices suck, the new AMD cpu's are coming out soon, and new graphics cards are likely coming soon. Buy USED if possible, you'' likely get a much better PC.
I did file for my taxes though. But I'm a dependent. From the website: "Could not be claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer". Considering he's in college, good chance OP is a dependent too.

Instead of calling it retarded, explain?

Yeah that dependent thing sucks, not saying you guys but a lot of parents are claiming it illegally so people are getting fucked over.

>no amd
Do you only game on your PC? Because then sure you should go intel, but if you're doing anything related to stuff like video rendering, streaming etc you should go AMD.

>64g ram minimum
No game is gonna need 64GB of ram ever for a LONG time. I bet 16GB will still be enough for the next 5 to10 years. Might as well just go 32GB if you care so much, 64GB is just overkill.

NO IT'S FUCKING NOT!

First off all you plan on buying a prebuilt, which is pretty retarded. Second, you keep saying that you have a low IQ, that's telling me that you are retarded. Third, is your fucking idiotic build and your reasons for picking those.
I'd also like to say that while I'm not a very smart man, but I managed to build my own PC and for less than that.
