I don't even understand why people actually want a god to exist. It would mean a higher power intentionally made the majority of all life in a way that forces them to devour other living beings to survive. The only way to explain that would be that this higher being enjoys watching its creations suffer and struggle. There is no other explanation at all

It's not only believing in religion but what that religion encourages. Like that user said family values as well as morals and community. Who knows? Maybe you'll get religious later on in life. When you get older, you think differently.
