How much is Sony paying these devs to SHILL this nonsense? This is so fucking sad! Look, Xbox has had adaptive triggers since 2013. Nintendo has had haptic feedback since 2017. This PS5 controller ain't gonna change shit as the controller LITERALLY brings nothing new to the table---and, how many devs are ACTUALLY gonna utilize such features? I mean, very few devs actually utilized the touchpad, speaker, and light bar on the DS4. And what about BATTERY LFE?! The most IMPORTANT thing about a controller! They're focusing on these gimmicky features to downplay, gloss over the abysmal battery life this PS5 controller is likely to exhibit. Guys, the PS5 is going to DESTROY the PlayStation brand when it's all said and done. They're already FUMBLING every step of the way, and it's sooooo incredibly sad. This is going to be Sony's Xbox One. It'll take YEARS for Sony to recover at this rate. But you don't care, you never have and you never will and you know why? Because it's convenient for you not to care.
How much is Sony paying these devs to SHILL this nonsense? This is so fucking sad! Look...
Bro it's a console. Sony already announced a bunch of its exclusives coming to pc. Having any kind of brand loyalty after that is retarded in every sense of the word. No corporation cares about you and they never will. The only reason to buy a ps5 or xb1 is because it's your preferred platform at this point.
i mean yeah its all marketing jargon nonsense, but this is also par for the course in every way. Are you really that surprised/angry at basic marketing?
>BATTERY LFE?!
Maybe if YOU had a life you wouldn't be bothered by it. Why are you playing video games all day?
Based
>why
they offer a discount on the dev paraphernalia
>xbox includes feature
>nobody cares
>sony includes feature
>people care
hmmmm
Just another gimmick to add to the pile of useless whistles. I mean they wouldn't be if devs utilized them more and Sony incentivized them to implement it more agressively.
there probably isn't money involved but rather equal parts not shitting where you lie and trying to get on sony's good graces.
>look everyone we bought phone-quality haptic feedback motors just like nintendo did please buy more PS5s than switches PLEASE
literally just "3D rumble" crap, no one cares.
>haptic feedback
Why not just call them rumble controls. Maybe because they’ve already existed for 20+ years in video games and they are trying to market it as something new.
>people
theya re being paid user
"adaptive triggers" unless it's what they use in racing sim peddals I don't care
You're on Yas Forums, you don't have a life either.
xbox gang rise up
>3d rumble
Idiot
> Look, Xbox has had adaptive triggers since 2013.
No it doesn't. It has rumble on the triggers. DualSense's triggers make themselves harder to physically push according to dev's wishes, for example pulling on a trigger is initially hard but then it let's go, like a real gun. Or accelerating a car has a certain resistance according to RPM, etc.
What Xbox has is a retarded fanbase: Evidence 1 --> OP.
how much someone is paying to you to shit on Sony on 4channel?
What do they mean by haptic feedback? HD rumble?
who the fuck calls Yas Forums "4channel"
Nobody has a life this is a slave prison pretending to be a society.(not him)
New new new fags
yes
You know how a smartphone vibrates to gestures and other interactions? That.
Isn't haptic feedback just HD rumble?
Which already exists and no one is song anything with?
It's not the same nut rumble 2.0 is probably a fair description.
>Retards think Adaptive triggers = Rumble
LMAOOOOO
Next time spend 2 seconds reading the source. No, it has nothing to do with rumble
nope
Why am I seeing a bunch of threads of the PS5 saying it's better when comparison of the new XBOX has superior specs?
>cool feature but it's up to devs to utilize it
yeah that always works out well
Didn't we hear this exact same shit with HD Rumble? It's bullshit unless it's demonstrated to be legit.
This feature will be really popular with female gamers
You're on Yas Forums user, this has been a Sony biased board since 2013.
OP is retarded. Adaptive triggers means the trigger can be as hard to press as the dev wishes to simulate things like gunshots. Haptic feedback is not rumble, it means the sticks can force themselves to push in other directions for more interesting response in racing games and such. This stuff has been around for a long time in specialized controllers, like really fancy steering wheel controllers.
Whether or not you think they're a gimmick is up to you, but at least understand what it is that you're bitching about you ignorant tool. I haven't bought a non-Nintendo console since the PS3 and this stuff is legitimately interesting even from a non-Sony fan perspective.
useless gimmicks that make controllers more expensive are ok when sony does them!
>BATTERY LFE
Probably something like 4 hours, like the last one.
Funny that the Switch V2 has a better battery life that a PS4 controller
Imagine the haptic feedback on the trigger in shooting games, then when you run out of ammo the trigger loses resistance and bottoms out.
It will be a game changer.
Ah a perfect example of a blind Sony fanboy.
>Adaptive triggers means the trigger can be as hard to press as the dev wishes
That sounds like a bad idea. Because I'm certain very quickly the tension in the trigger will go out if it's all over the place.
Will they use magnets or pistons
>bullshit other companies have tried might change THE game THIS time
it won't
>one company introduces gimmick
>nobody cares
>it becomes standard
>now games utilize it
No. In fact it was the opposite with people saying that no one would use it.
>controller battery dies after 1 hour
Thanks Sony
YYYYAAAAAAAWWWWWNNNNNNNN
oh I'm sorry
YYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN
you seem pretty autistic
So fake but still beautiful how?
So all these people are having an anyuerism that Xbox managed to beat them once?
Sure it's cool, but calling it a game changer is a big stretch.
>Haptic feedback is not rumble, it means the sticks can force themselves to push in other directions for more interesting response in racing games and such.
Ignoring the fact that you have no idea what haptic feedback is that's a terrible idea and would only make a game more frustrating than anything else.
Did any devs that weren't owned by Sony actually use the DS4's touchpad or light bar? I can only imagine Sony forcing them to "innovate" and try to find some way to use the DS4's gimmicks.
I dropped Infamous shortly after the opening graffiti scene where you have to use the light bar to cover the stencil. Not just because of that but it didn't help
>And what about BATTERY LFE?! The most IMPORTANT thing about a controller!
Definitely not as important as overall build quality and ergonomics. OP sounds like a shill anyway
How can a single company, that doesn't even always win, trigger Yas Forums so much?
Is this just fancy words for joycon HD rumble? Because if not then I don't care.
Fuck why is all the good nintendo shit not industry standard?
HD rumble
Detachable controllers so my shoulders don't hurt from normal pad postion
Motion controls to enhance existing input schmes
And Octogate was so rejected that Nintendo dropped it themself after Wii.
Fuck I'm mad.
It's obviously built to handle it without breakage in normal use. These things have exists in racing pedals forever. They don't break that easily.
It's a condescending differentiation between the blue and orange boards
>I haven't bought a non-Nintendo console since the PS3
So you're a hardcore Sony fanboy. After all you had absolutely no reason to mention Nintendo and only sonyfags are that obsessed with them.
We have a new invention the..
>No it doesn't. It has rumble on the triggers. DualSense's triggers make themselves harder to physically push according to dev's wishes, for example pulling on a trigger is initially hard but then it let's go, like a real gun. Or accelerating a car has a certain resistance according to RPM, etc.
That sounds pretty annoying, and sounds like something I'd disable first given the option.
Sony themselves barely used the touchpad and light.
> Haptic technology, also known as kinaesthetic communication or 3D touch,[1] refers to any technology that can create an experience of touch by applying forces, vibrations, or motions to the user.
Force feedback isn't anything new, it's just new to consoles. Don't discount something just because you haven't tried it.
Imagine the trigger break and reset on semi auto pistols.
I'm surprised consoles haven't adopted controller testing as a basic feature yet. I mean, that shit on its own is useful if you want to see if your controller is broken.
Hey retards ITT: Adaptive Triggers are like Force Feedback in racing wheels, where the wheel physically pushes itself in the opposite direction you're turning to. It has nothing to do with rumble, although yes there's also rumble in the controller in addition to that. The triggers will offer resistence to your push, no one has done it before that I'm aware of. Again, no it's not related to rumble.
Not even going to buy a PS5. It's just funny how 90% of this thread got it completely wrong
No clue
Or maybe I have only bought Nintendo consoles in the past decade and I actually meant what I said. Don't let Yas Forums fuck up your perception of reality. Not everybody is trying to pull a fast one on you.
they probably do it for free
>haptic memeback
most people will fall for it
steam controller has haptic memeback and it sucks. meanwhile the rumble triggers in the xbox controller don't suck and no one cares.
