the evolution when it comes to environmental design and story and atmosphere between demons->dark->bb->sekiro is pretty good. Here's the thing: yes the gameplay doesn't evolve as much BUT you have to nail something down and make sure it works and THEN experiment with other parts of the game.

I like Kojima more as a developer because of everything he is, eccentric fool that wont take no for an answer and does whatever he wants. The result is very interesting even if flawed. If we were to compare their latest games Death Stranding and Sekiro - I enjoyed both greatly, but Death Stranding was far more interesting to me and I cant stop thinking about it. It felt very refreshing, genuinely. World with only Miyazaki in it would just be boring. Embrace both of them for their strenghts and enjoy videogames.

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro alone are so different from each other that only someone with Down Syndrome could claim they are "the same game". There's very little in common in them.

They put his name on it to sell copies, but he was all too busy directing Bloodborne to help with DS3. DS3 was almost entirely made by Tanimura, and Miyazaki joined the team to help after Bloodborne released, which was very late into DS3 development.
Miyazaki had no need to make an apology game for DS2 either since he was not involved with the DS2 project for a single day. Btw he clearly despises DS2, he's refused to talk about it any time it's been brought up. He's very humble but even he can't control his disgust when he sees or hears about DS2, and I get the same reaction from the game. The game is so shitty it's insulting.
And you can thank Tanimura for all of that. We know from interviews that Miyazaki has a strong dislike for sequels and the idea of continuing a story or the worlds lore in a further game. There is no way it was him who wrote all the cringe references to DS1 in DS3.
