Nothing, friend tried to get me to download it, tried everything on the net, still getting patch errors within the first 4gigs of download. The game is forever locked away from me.

What is more wanted in a group: a good PLD, good DNC, good BLM or good MCH?

Just started the Bozja quests.

I'd like to get better at tanking, but I'm not sure which one is the best with high ping. I got DRK and GNB leveled. Any anons got advice?

Depends on the content, but I'll always lean towards good DPS, so BLM in that case.

Well in that case, I'd say I'd take a good PLD. From a healer perspective, the difference between a shit tank who has terrible boss positioning, terrible damage, terrible CD usage and makes the healers wanna suicide is like night and day from a tank who makes sure the melee always are able to hit the boss, isn't getting out DPS'd by the healers, knows how to maximize his damage while also remembering to mitigate incoming single target and AOE damage is amazing.

This raid tier I decided to pug savage instead of finding a static so I've seen MANY shit tanks, but whenever you get that one guy who's geared as fuck and knows his rotation to a T while making 7 other people's lives easier (especially the healers) is a great feeling. As you can tell I'm pretty biased but yeah, that's why I think a good PLD is the best choice her.

I'd still say good DPS, as long as the tank that would take your spot isn't bad.
Good DPS + OK Tank > Good Tank + OK DPS > Good Tank + Bad DPS > Good DPS + Bad Tank

I last played when Ghimlyt dark was released, is Shadowbringers worth getting into at this time? How are Samurai?

Out of the three choices, BLM easily. Physical ranged are a dime a dozem these days and a good BLM can shit out damage.

What about all DPS?

Shadowbringers' MSQ is the best Final Fantasy plot in decades, Samurai can be hit-and-miss depending on how attached you were to Stormblood's Shinten spam taking priority over Iaijutsu. Their kit overall was reoriented towards using iaijutsu more than once a century, Hagakure is still there but it doesn't give back enough kenki that you should be using it for Shinten now.

Not playing XIV. Waiting for 5.3 before I actually come back. Instead finished up replaying Nier Automata and am starting on the Trials of Mana remake.

I was never crazy on Shinten over Iajutsu, so if I use Iajutsu more that sounds fun.

i saw theres an 8 day free trial campaign, i got bis crafting gear like 2 days before 5.2 hit then kinda stopped playing, how hard would it be to get up to date with the free trial or should i just wait until 5.3 to sub

You'll pretty much only use Shinten now if you're overflowing on kenki, Midaruchiha Setsugatensho is your main damage-dealer now. Shoha also works off of becoming available once you've cast three iaijutsu, and Tsubame-gaeshi lets you repeat your last-cast iaijutsu (usually Tenka Goken for dungeon trash and Midare Setsugekka for bosses and single targets)
