Trials of mana

The other tread died, so I didn't get to ask a question. How does stat growth with training points work? Do you get the same amount of points as extras per level up if you spent points on them? How big is the improvement?

Can you fucking remap the controls in this? The default setup is a bit annoying.

Yeah

>Made my party Reize MC, Angela, and Hawkeye
>Angela's plot blatantly third wheeling

This is honestly kind of funny. Just got the dark elemental I hope the boss battles get as hard as Biff and Buff again.

I thought training points just unlock skills/spells?

Too bad the ingame Duelist isn't this cool

How?

>he doesn't check the options before asking

You get 1 stat per 1 training point. The amount of strength that goes towards your attack seems to be pretty small though. But in the original, not having certain strength/attack breakpoints would make your damage drop like a rock so maybe its a deal where scaling is more important later than early. Also

>Yas Forums keeps "going hurr game is too easy its impossible to die" based on the demo
>keep reminding people that rabites are meant to be fodder and the original doesn't get hard until Laurent
>mfw demonwall boss in the remake
jesus christ. at least they put a mana statue before bill & ben.

start, pause options, settings, controls are at the bottom

Is there a lil cactuar in the koropokkur village?

do Jutsu damage scale with Int or Luck? I've been getting conflicting messages. Also what about Traps? Not asking about how to unlock

Just started the game, it's glorious, and a sight to behold when a SNES game is faithfully remade, it's like it was made for me. Savour it Yas Forumsros.

I'm going Duran/Riesz/Kevin, probably will end up Paladin/Star Lancer/God Hand. Playing on hard mode.

no cactuar there, it'd be giant otherwise, but just as quick tip, check all the beaches because they'll be some there and you might never go there even after the turtle flute

Dman I missed the pause options.

This being a 1:1 remake is so boring. They should add a sprite mode

Not sure about jutsus, but traps definitely scale with luck.

I'm guessing INT, but I went Rogue not Ninja so I don't know. Traps and and tools scale with Luck now and they're pretty fucking insane. Rogue Hawkeye was always secretly good in the original but now that spells aren't a pain to use he's insane.

for people who have Angela, what are you doing about her training options since her spells are now tied to different stats to unlock? Also are you Light or Dark? Feels like Dark might be more convenient because you can just get maxed out Int and Dark Force?

Dark all the way

Womb Tattoo dark?

Hawkeye bros, is Poison worth it?
Haven't met a boss yet that could be inflicted with it, and normal mobs even on hard so far take like 1/5 of a normal attack worth of damage every two seconds when they need like 8-10 normal attacks to die, I'm not convinced. I really want to go for status and stuff, but I'm not feeling this. How does poison work? Does it scale on Int or Luck or something?

Yes

Just play the original if you want sprites. Its what a sprite mode would be like judging from DQXI.

I went Rune Master for max coom and spread her stats around. Reclaim was really useful until Duran got Leaf Saber and it let me pick up Fireball too. I didn't touch Luck at all and didn't get Cyclone but some of her Rune Master chain skills look pretty good so I'm pumping that up after capping Int. Spirit I just left alone after getting Holy Bolt.

Yeah, its everything I wanted from a remake. It reminds me of Fire Emblem Echoes, where pretty much the core of the game is the same, they just updated the music, graphics and story but kept everything as faithful as possible.

I went Light/Dark. Spirit for lucent beam+ and MP saver skills, Int for obvious reasons and Glitter Dust.
Lucent beam stunlocks everything that's not a boss and glitter dust deletes bosses. It was kind of disgusting honestly, she pretty much soloed the postgame dungeon.

Fuck the ghost ship boss for making my party's exp lopsided

Are any of the old guides still relevant?

Thank fuck there aren't any Chrono Niggers. Game's good, fuck GameSpot.

Int. Hawkeye gets a boost to his int if you go dark.

Why are weapons so fucking expensive? When do I finally get helms for my haracters?

just grind 9000 exp in the opening solo section bro!

But seriously, couldn't they have fixed this in the remake?

I don't know what it scales off of but eventually the ticks start doing more to the point they equal about the same as one of Hawkeye's attacks. I would say its not good by itself but much better by tier 3 class changes when you can start stacking debuff bonuses on multiple characters. Hawkeye putting on poison can give Rune Angela a flat 40% damage bonus on its own.

kind of no, the game handholds you with directions now so you dont need guides for obscure flags. And training points + new scaling stuff completely invalidates build guides

>I chose Riesz because I thought that it would give me a ranged fighter
The guy's a retard and its just best to laugh.

did Guideanon finish his thing? I want to see how the training menus look for the future classes so I can plan out some stuff

to be fair it literally says "Ranged Fighter with Summons" on her pick screen which is extremely misleading
