With the FF7 remake overhauling its combat to be action based is this Square's way of saying they've moved on from turn based combat? How would you fix it to be a better system and where do you see future JRPGs going in the future?

>Square's way of saying they've moved on from turn based combat?
They already literally said it a decade or so ago. Lightning's Armpits Adventures is supposed to their "final" Final Fantasy with some wacky attempt at turn-based combat.
Do you think someting could be down the make it popular again?
It still is popular, Persona 5 sold lots, people loved it.
wut gaem
Opera Omnia was better than every single Square Enix game that came out after FFXII. Kek.
>is this Square's way of saying they've moved on from turn based combat?
>Square only ever produces FF garbage

FF13's gameplay is the logical next step for turn based gameplay, just improve that.
Don't know, I typed in "turn based combat" into google images if that helps
true, but it also has a great story and a lot of sim elements that people love
rude
Both have been co-existing for several decades now.
Turn based will never actually die, neither will the strive to turn games into Action hybrids.
