What do people see in this game? I can't bring myself to finish playing it. Out of all the tank control RE games I've played this one feels the worst by far. Everything about it feels really slow and awkward, even the menus. The visuals are really unappealing, even compared to the PS1 games. Even the map is really lame compared to the Spencer Mansion or RPD. A prison setting could have been awesome, but the game just throws you around a bunch of small areas.

This game needs a proper reimagining. In it's current form it just isn't very good.

I played the darkside chronicles version, it's so much better.

Truth is people don't care about that game but pretending they wanted a remake all along makes them feel like they belong, it's super sad, people who only joined the series due to the remakes and they pretend to care about that shitty spin off

I'm a newfag to RE. I started with Remake 1 in December and I've been hooked on these games since then. And honestly, I like the old style (tank controls, fixed cameras, etc.) when it's done well. This game is just so sluggish and not very engaging at all.

I've been struggling to get into Zero and 5 onwards as well honestly. I think so far Remake 1 is my favourite but I liked both versions of 2 as well. I've been meaning to play the Chronicles games but I need to unfuck my PC first.

soundtrack, battle game, ashford twins, and matrix wesker

but mostly the game is a whole lot of wasted potential, which is a shame since it could have been one of the best. the setup of the redfield siblings vs the ashford siblings is a hype concept in theory, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired since they barely have any screen time with each other

I think people wanted a remake of it because it was the most janky, like with the fire emblem 2 remake

Last good RE game in the timeline
Classic gameplay but with a shitton of weapons
3D at the time didn't feel bad or clunky at all
Great atmosphere at times, especially the island part of the game
Punishing resource management but also give you a great knife for once
Best Claire by far, you crossdressing freak
Wesker is back

Play the remaster on xbox

I haven't played it in over a decade so I can't comment, I just recall it being a pretty jarring experience and no I never liked whats his face and his DUAL XXGOLDLUGERSXX but the gameplay really stuck with me. Game was damn spooky.

>Last good RE game in the timeline
Fuck off 4 and 7 are great games

Not RE games.

>they're not RE games because I say so!
Retarded boomer

0 is the worst game in the series if you remove the train and the final area. You can skip it if you don't like it.

It's a horrible game. It isn't even made by Capcom, it was outsourced to Sega (NexTech). It probably explains why it feels like a bad House Of The Dead game at times.

You haven't seen reddit. People there didn't even know Jill dress was her outfit in the original re3, yet now you say you wanted VerĂ³nica remake and boom 99999 up votes.

I agree the controls and graphics and everything about it, specially dialogue is shit, but that's what darkside chronicles is for. No need for a full remake to have ugly re7 Chris again. Let remakes die 4 should be the last one.

Why isn't 7 RE?

i enjoyed the difficulty, the length and the puzzles
and the attempt at making fixed camera more appealing to retards by making the game 3D and letting it have limited tracking
but it didn't work, retards need action games to vegetate to instead
game was a straight upgrade to the real resident evil games, logical conclusion, outbreak further upgraded it by allowing new actions and movement while shooting including lock on and fluent reloading, etc
but whatever, franchise has been dead for a long time now

>RE4 is a RE game because I say so
Retarded zoomer

It's a good RE but it's obviously not the classic RE style either.

Ugly Chris. Not my Redfield not my RE.

>What do people see in this game?
Nothing, it's fairly unpopular among classic RE fans and just exists as "the last gasp of classic RE before post-RE4 shenanigans".
It's not terrible, it's fine. At least old CV, CVX is an embarrassment with how they try to cool-up Wesker.

CV isn't one of those games you recommend to anybody. If someone is enough of a classic RE fan that they're going to play it, they're going to play it. If they're not, they're not. No outside input needed. It's playable, finished, and not great, not terrible.

It's way better than RE0

RE0 doesn't get a "non-recommendation since classic RE fans are going to play it anyway", RE0 gets an active "are you sure? This game is actively not fun" warning.

Fucking leeches.

This game spanks my shit even harder than REmake1 does...
why is it so hard bros?

>literally has Resident Evil on the box
>directed by one of original creators of the series Shinji Mikami
>starring Leon, one of the main characters from RE2
>hurrrr it's not RE!
Kill yourself already

play 5 and 6 with a friend

Hahaha

it doesn't have one of the 4 recurring protagonists.

bad game design

kinda handsome ngl

It's the last of the originals that really needs remaking. Compared to the classic entries, Code Veronica is the weakest especially in the controls department.

>the attempt at making fixed camera more appealing to retards by making the game 3D and letting it have limited tracking. But it didn't work, retards need action games to vegetate to instead.
The change to 3D and moving camera isn't what makes CV bad, it's the art style and the awful controls that do. You only have to look at Dino Crisis on the PS1 to see how much better the atmosphere and controls could have been and that was a spin off title. It's a shame that the official RE3 wasn't the one that was being developed as RE3 because it's source code could have been used in the follow up Code Veronica. Instead the RE development team splintered with the talented gameplay coders staying on the PS1. It's why Code Veronica looks worse and plays the worse out of all the classic entries.

The game gives you a shit ton of ammo but no incentive to fight since enemies can either stunlock you or gang bang you into a coma

>it's the year 2020 and Yas Forums is largely too casual to complete Code Veronica

christ

this
casuals ruined video games

stop excusing bad game design
0 and cv are both guilty

>last play it when I was 11
>didn't notice or have any of the big problems like the Plane tyrant lock at all
>Arctic base with Chris was annoying
Then again, I also really enjoyed figuring out Siren without a walkthrough, so I might not be a good judge on how badly designed or bullshit a game is supposed to be
