Skyrim
Dragons dogma
3D Wizard: The Game
poopy poo trash
should I download any mods
Unironically Morrowind. Nothing is better than levitating around and casting fireballs down upon your enemies.
Why are there almost no games that let me use the patrician sword+staff combo?
this, get the Dark Arisen expansion and the only mod you need is to bring back the Into Free title music
You can try dragon age origins. It is pretty good as a mage and the story has a lot more impact with you being one.
ty frens
maybe a weird pick but Ni No Kuni made me feel like a smol wizard on an adventure
Lego Harry Potter
Kingdoms of Amalur
Kind of a meh game (writing is pretty decent and it gets better in the expansions), but playing a mage is fun as fuck. Not as good as Dragons Dogma, but still pretty good.
How good is dragon dogma? I'm not a fan a rpg set on the fantasy universe, cause they're pretty bland and have bad combact (dark souls is kinda mid, but good lore in my opinion). Also is it single player?
Fairly good and the expansion improves it a lot. Yes (but you have an AI companion that learns from your actions and if you send it out on the net people will judge you for how shit it is at doing what they want)
magicka
It's very good but also has a lot of flaws. You get into it primarily for the combat and then come to love the jankiness with time.
Elder scrolls is fucking dogshit
You sold me with this gif user. I have been hesitant on getting it for a while because I don't have a boner for every medieval settings, but it looks nice. And every game has some flaws eventually
Dark Messiah if you can stand some forced melee in the beginning
Outward
Dungeons & Dragons Online
Literally Dark Souls 1/2/3 and Demon's Souls, my guy.
are you having a stroke user?
reading this thread made me realize vidya magic is fucking shit tier
play fable 1, its got an actual assortment of unique spells that dont just boil down to "ranged damage with mana as a resource"
Most MMOs
Utility wizard is a fun archetype, but not as under represented as you would think. I want to repeat Dungeons & Dragons Online exists. It's literally a vidya port of an entire 3.5th edition rule D&D system.
>tfw my first playthrough of DS1 was an INT/DEX build, dressed like a wizard, ninja flipping around the place cutting enemies down with my iaito and staff
Was pretty fun.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, you probably won't be able to pull off a pure mage(at least not without mods),but the stuff you can do with magic is fun. There are also staves in the game,so even in melee you're technically still a mage.
I just dual-sword + bow and arrow'd every installment on my first run. Ended up cheesing much of the PvE because arrows are always broken, even in 3. But Ranger is best.
I like staffs - in my experience if you focus on knockdowns and finishing blows you can fight as equally good as a full strength character
With the shield spell and that staff that earns you mana (late mid-game) the only way you're gonna die is if you do so on purpose or accident by jumping off a cliff
>Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, you probably won't be able to pull off a pure mage(at least not without mods)
How come? Never played it before but thought of doing so.
not him but mana costs are extreme for the longest while and even with mana boosting and regen stuff later in the game you're gonna have a lot of downtime if you blow your load completely without any mana potions (and on a high difficulty a lot of the enemies are damage sponges towards magic)
IT's fully singleplayer.
Be warned, the early game is a fucking drought, and I love this game like no tomorrow.
If you manage to make it Gran Soren (the main city) the rest of the game is much more enjoyable and a true adventure. The expansion is kinda postgame and it's dungeon crawler, considered by many the best part of the game.

Like me lol. I redo dragon's dogma JUST to get to BBI and fight there - even though i've discovered everything and done all the builds i've wanted before.
I slogged through the witcher 3 and FFXV, if the game is as good as you say, so I can do it. It'll be worth at least this time around. Worst case scenario I just lost 7 bucks
Lol, literally the worst TES game to be a mage in, it has the most dumbed down magic system.
OP play Morrowind, imagine walking into a dungeon and either obliterating everything using one spell or being everyones friend. You can literally jump across the land using jump spells. Its the best mage experience, you even have chad npc mages that have bent the rules of reality to give a negative value shit.
Jesus what a faggot, let him have an opinion you honourless anus
The first time I played DD I actually solo dove into BBI as soon as I could without even setting foot in Gran Soren and I had a blast, I wouldn't try that as a magician though.
