Amazing games tarnished by shitty final bosses?
Amazing games tarnished by shitty final bosses?
Deus Ex
If the final boss was Mecha Hitler, then it would've been one of the greatest games of all-time. As it stood, all that suspense came to a relatively weak conclusion.
Ion Fury. You didn't even directly fight the bad guy, just defeat waves and put explosives in a hole.
Hitler was already dead though. That's the whole reason they resurrected Heinrich. He just needed to be faster and have a quick lunge attack. Better supporting enemies would help too. Turning Mariana and the Uber Soldaten into generic zombies was pretty shit.
The last final fights all felt repetitive
The CO-OP mod fixes that if you enable more enemy reinforcements - you get 3 UberSoldats alongside Heinrich.
I wouldn't say that Borderlands 1 is amazing or anything, but it's good for what it is. The final boss was so terribly disappointing though.
>Final boss just walks slowly towards your gf while weak 1-2hit enemies fall off him and walk slightly faster towards your gf
FUCK YOU WHERE'S MY ELDER GOD PUNCH UP? YOU PROMISED ME
yeah its too bad cuz i love everything else about the game
Splatterhouse 2010 was such a shitty interpretation of the originals. Not sure where the concept of being a death metal fueled beat-em-up came from. The originals were more timing based than anything else, forcing you to dodge shit and hit enemies at proper times without leaving yourself open. Abandoning the original atmosphere of exploring what once was an ornate and decadent mansion that has been consumed by necrotic rot and replacing it with fucking creepy clown circus was beyond retarded. Also dislike how they replaced a lot of the surreal and organic enemy designs with generic Lovecraft eldritch monsters. What a missed opportunity.
san andreas last mission was kinda shit
Doom IIs icon of sin is cool aesthetically, musically whatever, but god the last fight of this kino is just rng?
>expecting good boss fights from FPS, classic or otherwise
I never played the originals unfortunately, but you can 100% see that they didn't get it right whatsoever in the remake.
Also I'm sorry, I missed the "amazing" part of the OP. I enjoyed the game, but it's just average at best.
They're generally bad but I think Ziggurat actually had good bossfights.
>"Yeah, Well fuck you!"
>"No Rick. FUCK! YOU!"
Witcher 3
You know you fucked up when the final boss needs on-screen tutorials for game mechanics that are exclusive to him.
Every Mass Effect.
>just wait for the nigger to shoot him then stab him
>repeat 10 times
Dark Samus and Emperor Ing fights in Metroid Prime 2 are fun.
Shadow of Mordor. The game was pretty good, but the last boss was a shitty qte
>first game ends on a cliffhanger
>so what do we do with the sequels
>yeah let's make all of them fucking prequels
Darksiders franchise is a big wasted potential.
>Dude lets end the second game in the same spot!
>Brilliant! And how to we follow that up?
>I...Uhh...
He looks cool, that's enough for an FPS final boss. So I disagree.
Heinrich is foreshadowed in the opening cinematic though. He fits the game better than Memeler.
And even worse when it introduces multiple new mechanics and DOESN'T explain them.
This piece of shit. Fun game ruined by an shitty, anti-climatic bossfight and no sequel.
no no he HAS to look like Atlas. You know, the guy from the statues. The guy who holds the planet in the statues. Big and buff.
Oh yeah, I really didn't like the jetpack controls there.
I fucking hated that they added boss fights in Halo. The only "boss fights" that should have been in the game are more enemies in difficult to deal with combinations.
>we never got the final mission of Halo 2 with Master Chief
>we got that shitty boss fight instead
fuck you, 2004
This motherfucker was the worst. That and Leandros being a cunt.
Great game though.
They would have been fine without limited invulnerability shit. Why do you need to jump on Regret's chair and punch him when you can just shoot him and blood even comes out? Why does Tartarus have a shield that only beam rifles can bring down? Just let me shoot them normally, but add in other enemies to distract me from that.
The heretic leader fight alright because you just needed to figure out which one was real. The only issue was that it was painfully easy to do that and then rape him from cloak.
