Chances are, the game still has plenty of content that panders to you specifically, so why does it automatically turn to shit to you? It's the vidya industry's job to make sure their product appeals to as many potential customers as possible, so where's the harm in trying to get that female bux?

Because, for example, Dragon Age 3 has a bunch of garbage writing and characters specifically pandering to that type of audience, and the game suffered for it.
I don't think tumblr-writing necessarily has to make a game worse, especially if it's in the context of a side character or B plot that you can ignore, but I can't think of an example of a game that has included that style of storyline/character that hasn't also had massive technical and more broadly sweeping writing issues as well.
Particularly as far as Bioware is concerned.
I also can't think of many games where the "opposite" practice (which to me would include pandering to a general male audience with sexualized female characters or other stereotypical things normal men are generally fond of) has ever made a game suffer.
So writ large, pandering to females has been proven to make games worse. I would compare this practice to when people use the term "streamlining" in a negative context, such as when a game's sequel removes key elements and gameplay complexities to appeal to a larger audience.

Although they do exist and from mi POV it's harmless, but i've seen complains about how games like WoW have the male races as badass and manly, and the females as cute or sexy, thus female players (who shouldn't exist and should go back to the kitchen) are in their right to dislike it if they wanted to play a badass character. This seems like a legitimate complaint, though. If an additional feature (like an alternate protagonist) that some players won't even engage with leads to less standard content, then it is a worthwhile gripe.
If Persona 6 hypothetically added an alternate female protagonist story mode, but then reduced the male protagonist's romance options by half compared to the previous game, there would be no end to the complaints.

We all suffer because of fucking female players who get involved in vidya they don't care about. They try to push a narrative that it's 50/50 when they are less than 3%.
Now Cyberpunk 2077 has gays asking for the same amount of romance options straight players have. Doesn't matter if straight gamers are the 99% and gays 1%, they still feel entitled to have everything for them, and if a game had more gay romance options than straight (See Fallout 4) they would NEVER EVEN CONSIDER saying that's unfair.

DA2 handled that part of the romances awful though, with Anders specially.
