What the hell went wrong?
What the hell went wrong?
Kirby is at crossroads. It could be a dark sci-fi fantasy game about a cute world with horrible interstellar shit happening around it, or it could be kid's game. Another problem is that's it's stuck in SNES game length. Should kirby games be longer?
The gameplay has been suffering since Return to Dream Land. Star Allies merely follows the trajectory of the two 3DS games.
Wanted me to pay $60 for a game I can beat in a single sitting. Tired of the Nintendo premium. Sure when I can get my moneys worth on something like Breath of the Wild then yeah sure, but come the fuck on
I think it's pretty clear the main audience for Kirby is the people who like the dark sci-fi stuff
I have no idea why Nintendo insists on making each game easier and easier
wait, the fire thingies are female?
??????????????????????????????????
kirby is too bland and easy. nintendo needs to make it appeal to a wider audience instead of just young children.
>pathetically easy even for a kirby game
>barely any original ideas to speak of
>plays it way too safe outside of the addition of dream friends
>30 FPS with wii u-tier graphics
>kirby isn't angry on the US boxart
>30 FPS with wii u-tier graphics
I could forgive everything else. But this... What the fuck Nintendo?
>Kirby is at crossroads
>It could be a dark sci-fi fantasy game about a cute world with horrible interstellar shit happening around it
What? The series is exactly the same as it was before aside from all the "lore" Hal decided to build on after Sakurai left. Kirby isn't at a crossroads with that at all.
What it is at a crossroad with is the current gameplay and the chance to freshen things up. The devs have already stated that the next Kirby game will breath new life into the series. We're going to be looking at something unique with the next release. They also mentioned wanting this Kirby to be the peak of the series, so maybe we'll get same old with something new after that.
>60 fps in the menus/bonus game
>30 fps in actual gameplay
for what purpose mashpotato samurai?
i do think length was the issue, i had a good time playing it and i think there was enough lore in there for people who want to think about that sort of thing to build upon, they dont need to actually explain whats going on for the kirby nerds to do their thing, i do wish it was longer and other than that they just need to make kirby control more like he does in smash in terms of his jumps and it would've been great
shitty, dead, boring franchise that needs to see the rope
>Should kirby games be longer?
Kirby and Pokémon specifically have a more mature audience that would relish the opportunity to play these games with more unforgiving difficulty.
I think Nintendo should be willing to embrace this and add in ball-breaking difficulty options
Soul Melter EX was some of the most fun I've had in Kirby for a long time, imagine if they made a Kirby game that was filled with bosses like Three Mage-Sisters
Got in a strange mood to play a Kirby game a month ago so I bought it to play before New Horizons came out. I had a good time but like others have said it's way too short. Kirby is odd because when I'm playing I feel like I'm having a good time but when I reflect on it it feels like they're these weird hodgepodges of games. There's not really any platforming and there's definitely not a lot to the combat but the varied movesets and puzzles were pretty neat. I just wish there was more too them. I still want to go back to the other modes at some point too though. Regardless I've heard that the 3DS games are some of if not the best in the series but I'm not really up for dropping 40 bucks on a game that's several years old on a dead platform.
You can play as Adeleine, everything went right in the end.
I can only assume that they went for the most generic Kirby game possible because it's the system's "first" Kirby game. Maybe the sequel will be a bit more interesting like the robot game.
If you do get any of the 3ds games get Robobot for sure, it fixes most of issues Triple Deluxe had making it a pretty good game however there is still the underlining problem of the games being too easy but you should still have some good fun with it
Sakurai is no longer associated with Kirby games
It was 60 bucks and had basically no content on launch, you could beat it in a day. Slow dripfeed content doesn't work for Kirby at all.
Nothing
Don't forget it drops even lower as early as Whispy Woods.
I dunno man but Roboboto was fucking great.
This switch one is just too easy and short.
>It could be a dark sci-fi fantasy game about a cute world with horrible interstellar shit happening around it, or it could be kid's game.
It's always going to be a kids game. Literally no one would buy an edgy M-rated reboot of fucking Kirby of all things.
>It could be a dark sci-fi fantasy game about a cute world with horrible interstellar shit happening around it
Just fucking stop
One of Star Allies, and really just the kirby formula's biggest strengths is that the games are very replayable. I think kirby would benefit by some big overarching system to complement replaying levels, like a chao garden type game mode where the money and items from the full game carry over. Also the next spinoff game should be a warriors game or a bayonetta clone
Kirby needs an actual open world style game with RPG stats and not just a linear platform game with hubs
Kirby needs to evolve past the cute and easy platformers we've had for years.
