I'm mostly a single player guy and I found playing Arma 3 by myself quite alright. The biggest issue I've had with it is that enemy AI is ridiculously overpowered. Even with enemy accuracy and skill options turned all the way down, you will encounter npcs with their backs facing you, 400m away, turn around in a split second and put their first round in between your eyes while you're wobbling all over with your scope as if suffering from parkinsons. Get ready to abuse AI shortcomings and do a little savescumming if you plan to beat the SP scenarios.
Most people would tell you that multiplayer is where the real fun is at because you're fighting on an even playing field.
