literally 99.9~% of reports in these dogshit ass matchmaking-restricted mmr addict playgrounds are done as means to punish/blame teammates for poor play/losses, not actually as a way to reinforce or curate positive interaction between players and create a less miserable environment for everyone
they do this because its the only agency they have: they have more personal control over your ability to continue being allowed to play the game via report abuse than they do on their ability to win any given game they play
and the reports are literally strictly for this purpose, because the reporting systems for things like behavior in these games are entirely automated they are designed to be spammed and abused without punishment, since thats the only real way to get people to use them

thats not true. i reported someone because they were annoying me and in the same match he had to change his name that he apparently had for years to something else because i reported him. he literally stopped being annoying after that after telling his tale.
