The party was trash. The music is great; combat was decent especially paradigm shifting. You just couldnt give a shit about the characters
Sazh was like the only decent party member.
Lightning complaining about things was kind of amusing though.
pacing, characters and story
Nah. Party was great.
What sucked was the entire gameplay loop and level design. Monotonous hallway expedition with absolutely nothing to break up the monotony.
i had high hopes when the game started with just those two and it seemed fun
and then snow and the kids started appearing
It was a 15 hour game stretched for 40 hours
I loved it. Its the only port id happily pay money for when it comes out instead of waiting for a sale
>inbr4 shill.
I played
PlayStation 3
Crystal Tools
Toriyama came up with a game concept and the team didn’t even like it so they didn’t have a game until a year before release.
I’ll repeat: this game was developed in a year.
Everything except the graphics and environmental art.
The gameplay I envisioned when I saw the first trailer was essentially what FF7:Remake ended up being. Super disappointed with what we got instead.
Only good character was the black guy, and they made him a support character.
A JRPG following the COD FPS hallway of that era
it invested too much in character and not enough in world building. the villains are vague the world is moot, as you watch characters face an existential crisis.
Definitely not the music
>What went wrong.
Nearly all of the party members are complete fucking scum bags and unlikeable except for the Black Dad who's motivation was honestly the most reassuring.
Lightning acts like a cunt the whole time.
Snow is a selfish brat who ropes people into doing shit for him.
Sarah....
Pink hair twat acts innocent but is partially responsible for the happenings.
Hope has good motivation, but ends up just being a fucking cunt too.
Saz is great.
Black haired twat is also responsible for what is happening, and also a cunt.
What makes me laugh is people gushing over FF7R also hated FF13, its the same fucking game.
>Walk down a hallway.
>Cutscene.
>Stagger me taggers.
All the main FF games are on PC pretty certain
Well, at least this one was way better than the shitty sequels that completely ruined the story as a whole. The combat mechanic was actually decent, the characters sucked except Sazh the black guy which was the only "normal" character compared to the rest. The music was good and the graphics ok desu.
Sazh carries the whole game isn't he the best
>Nah. Party was great.
Nah. Party is trash. Lay of the estrogen faggot.
youtu.be
Doesn't this make you want to overthrow the government?
xbox took it's soul
Sazh was ass--Snow was much better. Sazh was too reluctant to do anything and acted like a bitch the whole game.
In my opinion pretty much everything. One of those games where it's honestly hard for me to think of a single real positive.
Gameplay was real boring unless you wanted to hit 5 stars on every encounter. Endless hallways as far as the eye can see.
Characters were all bitchy unlikable cunts except Sazh
Story wasn't engaging enough for a game this long.
Graphics and music were nice though
I liked this game until gran pulse which is horribly annoying to navigate and requires mandatory grinding of mmo missions to beat the game.
i hated the first 15 hours of the game. constant drag, absolute braindead combat, totally linear, nonsensical story...but god damn, once you hit that 15th hour it all feels worth it. like you've been forced into the back seat of a shitty car with strangers for 2 days, then the car breaks down and you all have to survive together. they all finally get some space to develop on their own and it all comes together in the end after all they've been through. god damn, i even liked hope by the end.
for those reasons i cannot be bothered with ff15. they are obviously trying to hone in on that same experience having only changed the linearity portion. 15 feels like if 13 raped you with quest markers and minimaps, but didn't bother to have cool female characters in the party.
i want fang to cum in my butt
Gran pulse is still like 70% straight corridors
>requires mandatory grinding of mmo missions to beat the game.
I thought there was only one stone the game made you finish
I've read you'll want to do like 30 of them if you want to beat the final boss.
can someone explain the function of the stagger mechanic? introduced in 13 i think but i see it in gameplay vids of 15 and even ff7 remake.
is the point to have "soft" stages to every fight? so the beginning of every encounter is pitched and uncertain, then that burst of empowerment? if that was the idea, i never felt that staggering an enemy "felt" good. it was an inevitability of every fight. i literally could not win a fight without staggering first, so the whole "phaseline" idea seems moot.
The sequels and Lightning forcing, especially when she wasn't the MC of XIII.
>You just couldnt give a shit about the characters
Half of them.
That's a load of horseshit. The random mobs on route to the final fight are tougher than the boss if you just use buffs/debuffs like you aren't retarded.
makes me want to punch god to death with my bare fists
oh well maybe I'll pick it up again because that killed my interest. How much more game is left after Gran Pulse?
One has fun combat and good characters, and solid world building, and one doesnt. Pretty simple
