Congratulations! You've been hired by Bethesda to work on Fallout 5 as a writer. How do you reinvent the Fallout series after the disappointment that was the 76 launch and regain the trust of fans? What's the plot line? What crazy new vault ideas are you going to add? what region does it take place in? What new explanation do you have for super mutants? Good luck user, make us here at Bethesda proud!

I finish it off and kill Bethesda style Fallout forever
i don't, i make 5 like a post apocalyptic cod campaign and kill the series once and for all
I force them to use a better engine
I would introduce the concept of DUMBS and the idea that the original fallout was caused by a parasitic entity that had slowly brainwashed man into creating an environment where “they” could thrive.
Vault dweler get ipad
>make sense of this incoherent mess
no
Make the whole game about a tranny who's parents disowned them and now they're trying to save the wasteland to earn thier parents respect back. On the way deal with the poison male ran society, rape culture and social injustice.
chug soi
I don't fucking know man, I'd give the game to sawyer he'll figure that shit out
>interesting story that intertwines with several different plotlines that produce incredible and different endings
>all your decisions have merit
>no pipboy, have inventory management like in STALKER
>takes place in Wyoming and let's you roam across national parks
>no super mutants, deathclaws, etc., but wendigos, and other paranormal/radiated creatures instead
>good gun play with a focus in immersion
>gun design isn't fuck off retarded
>no BOS, Enclave, but rather actually interesting factions, maybe leftover Caesar's legion (if it takes place after NV)
>ultimately all of these ideas are thrown into the fucking trash as Publisher forces us to have another go fetch family main story with no skills again and it's all fucking horrible and made to sell merch
I make it an isekai
You play as Dowart Hodd, a 5'2 former chess club champion that after the bombs have dropped has to survive by climbing mountains while fighting off irradiated superjocks that are laughing at him.
You start off with 100 in speech, that gradually goes down as the game progresses and all the lies you tell.
>What's the plot line?
You're the night watch for your settlement. During the day you can talk with everyone, buy from the shops, or go hunting around your settlement but not too far. One night goes horrible when you see a group of thin human looking creatures rushing the outpost. You're able to gun down a few of them but you're eventually overwhelmed and knocked out. When you wake up, your boss or whatever fills you in on what happened and you learn the same thing happened to a nearby friendly settlement; those thin things abducted a handful of people and only knocked out anyone that tried to stop them. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to make contact with the other groups that were hit to try and figure out what happened.
>What crazy new vault ideas are you going to add?
No
>What region does it take place in?
Whatever region would make my thin men lore friendly.
>What new explanation do you have for super mutants?
Are there still groups of them wondering around after the Master died? If so, have a town of them like Jacobs but a little less friendly since they work with raiders.
Fire fucking everyone.
Buy a lifetimes supply of peyote and ketamine, reemploy Kirkbride.
Get Avalone and that other lanky faggot from Obsidian on board.
Contact those lazy cunts at Gamebryo and tell them to fucking update their engine because it hasn’t been touched in a decade and for fucks sake, come on cunts.
Was this the actual ending or an April fools thing? Great either way.
>I'll just make it interesting and incredible
Oh, why didn't Beth think of that
>you've been hired by bethesda
Great, my career is ruined now. Better kill myself.
I'd just throw whatever established lore there is out of the window and start anew. Fallout has been a silly theme park since the second game.
Sup Pete.
that's a pretty good comic
>Not just giving the IP to Obsidian and renting a decent engine
>Maybe get some people from more competent developers to actually make the gameplay good
based
Obsidian is gone man, look at Outer Worlds.
You mean the disappointment of 4. No one went into 76 expecting anything but Fallout 4 online edition. That's two steamy turds in a row. I legitimately don't care about the series anymore and want Bethesda to just sell it to anyone else. I'd even take a damn Ubisoft Fallout over another Bethesda Fallout. The only companies that could do worse is EA and Activision with MS as a close 3rd.
>Return to actual dialog options
>use a new fucking engine
>Alaska
>shit ton of remaining military bases and old tech from the war
>you have Chinese colonial remnants on offshore islands and mainland
>possibly some Russians
>Inuit tribes invading from the east
>Alaskan warlords
>Wars to control oil
>no super mutants, deathclaws or any old shit
and for the love of god, can we actually have some buildings that have been built after the war? why does everything look like shit? its been 200 years, did people forget about bricks/wood?
ahem, megaton exist
Fallout 5 in hawaii. The isolated remnants of the US military and the Chinese invaders have formed new societies and are both attempting to take over the islands and eventually find some way to return to their mainland. Takes place 20 years after the bombs fell, one bomb directly struck Oahu but another bomb fell but never detonated. Both forces are searching for that last bomb as a way to fuel their nuclear powered ships.to make the trip to the mainlands You exist as a vault dweller who exits the vault for some reason I haven't imagined yet but the vault itself gets entangled in the war between the two societies.
Gameplay wise is similar to Fallout 4 but with the traditional skill system but retaining a lot of things like magazines and bobble heads that grant perks, keeping exploration as one of the main ways to develop your character. The story takes somewhat of a back seat, the main way you interact with the story and factions is more through your decisions outside of quests rather than explicitly joining a faction. The mystery of the islands is left for you to discover and what you chose to do with that information is what drives things to happen. No brotherhood of steel, no enclave.
Because Oblivion was more successful than Morrowind. Pretty much everything wrong with Bethesda can be traced back to that.
make it turn based isometric and make the zoomies seeeethe
What exactly would a new engine fix? The game would probably have just as many bugs but you'd sacrifice modding capabilities.
