How does it compare to the PS3 version? I'm torn between playing it on PS1 with CRT for the comfy CRT feel, or playing it on PS3 for maximum graphical fidelity.

I still get a kick out of things like azure dreams, alundra (1 mostly), hogs of war, mr domino, IQ, jade cocoon, Legacy of kain (bo and soul reaver), heart of darkness if only to see what could have been, legend of dragoon, silhouette mirage, tomba, legend of legaia, parasite eve.
Frankly I find vagrant story to be an unplayable, ugly, dreary mess.
The PS1 has tons of great games in a ton of different genres.
It was a meh third person shooter, got rushed and pushes around indev and ended up mediocre, not balanced/tested enough to a point most people couldn't beat it. It'd have been totally forgotten if not for the fact they had loads of merch lined up that all failed, and phil hartman voiced blasto. It was released like 2 months before phil hartman died, too which sort of fucked the sequel that was supposedly in development already. I think there's a few leaks of the stuff that was done already, not sure if I'm confusing it with another game though.

When you beat the game it shows you this. Poor Phil, he didn't deserve it.The game is actually solid too if you put in the time to learn how it works properly. Its physics and controls are consistent, just hard to get used to like with tomb raider. You can use the quick turn jump to pull off some impressive stuff.
