can we have an opus magnum thread? i'm about halfway through the game. i'm fucking loving this, it satisfies so much of my autism. i'm shit at building contraptions still, but goddamn if it ain't nice. any other rube goldberg games?

gonna post a few more

Factorio for sure

It's much easier than a lot of other Zachtronics games so it's a great introduction. I still have some of my solutions saved from when it came out.

fuck beat me to it

Of all of the Zachtronics games I have played Opus Magnum is my least favorite. It's still good though.

that kind of made me shit myself

Jewish setups are always the most unsatisfying, which is why I love them.

Why all the spins at the end?

>Taking a full 3 Salts off when you only need to take 1 off
This is heresy.

The outer ring needs to be fully bonded together.

sorry i'm retarded ;_;

needs to complete the bonds

>sorry i'm retarded
You are forgiven, so long as you know your mistakes.

What's better? Opus Magnum or Molek Syntez?

I don't have any good recs but I'm gonna post my own retarded solutions because I never got to post in a Magnum Opus thread and I think its fun to compare solutions, enjoy op

> not optimizing for speed/throughput
PATHETIC.

Looks like they fixed the pivots. Maybe I'll pick it up now.

>Bob I tell you I can optimize your factory and get your efficiency up 500%
>all I need is a building 5x the size of the one you have now
throughput/size is the king combo

the chad swing.

What do you mean, fixed the pivots? They haven't changed how rotation works to my memory. Are you just a brainlet perhaps?

Infinifactory is better
This solution sucks, but it looks cool

SWANG N BANG BABY

I hate this puzzle, it makes me feel wasteful.

i retried after the first comment. it's not too bad right ;_;

Molek Syntez sucks. I got a refund. It's the worst Zachtronics game by far.

They weren't centered last I saw. They were off by a pixel or so. It was fucking chaos and I couldn't deal.

That does sound awful, never ran into issues though.

What's so bad about it?

It just does everything the other games do except worse. There's also no story, and it looks like shit, too. I wish Zach would make a sequel to SpaceChem or Shenzhen. The games are way more interesting when you can connect separate modules together and the space is limited

Because it's neither EXTREMELY space-limited (TIS-100, Shenzhen, Spacechem) nor truly free for absurd optimization (Opus Magnum). It's an uncomfortable place in between.

Here's a fun challenge:
Curious Lipstick with full throughput. As in both salt outputs being pulled from once every two steps.
Don't actually do it, it's hell.
