anyone got anything difficult?

Im adding stuff as they come in... 1 speedrun no kaizos yet.

Speedrun and kaizo are autistic, I just want normalish levels that are difficult

>Make cool bossfight
>test it out
>2-5% chance you get RNG fucked
>have to delete the entire bossfight
Why are all the bosses so fucking eratic?

To the people who have 40 courses in their superworld

How do to stay creative without falling back to our habits and making your levels feel samey?

sorry to be autistic but you kept the heading of my post in the pastebin and it looks weird

You could grab the first clear on my level
High Above the Dunes:
FHG-59V-WQG

And then I have some really hard Kaizo level that only has one clear
POWer through the night:
0BN-6GB-RPG

Both of them are pretty hard.

I'd say there's two ways I make levels. The first is that I think of a theme that would be fun to use (Crushers excavating a level, a series of fakeout level endings, a fortress of difficult jumps where you can't die, vertical level where you have to reach the bottom and climb back up, etc..)
The other type comes from noticing an interesting mechanic while playing the game or messing around in the level editor and then designing a course around it (waiting for a dry-bones to revive, koopas walking back to their shells, counting the number of coins in a limited time, riding on buzzy beetles, wiggler's acting as a trampoline when place on an enemy, etc.)

I've only made 5 fucking levels, somebody try out the traditional ones I've been cooking.

>Spadooner's Skywalk
0G3-RDJ-YHF

>Scramble Circus
BPV-XP5-R0G

currently playing : 2CY-3BW-8WG

Fun so far. Pretty easy but long first level with decent platforming

Almost fried my Switch making this. Third of the series, Ludwig is a fucking bitch. You'll see. Check the others if you like, my ID is 4FS-Q7G-LDG

>Ludwig's War Laboratory!

ID: 4Q6-WSR-LSF

Clever for an ogre, and just as brutal.

4-2: Choco-late Night on Sugar Slopes

SMW levels for a Super World. They’re themed, moderately difficult levels. Looking for any feedback I can get.

Does someone want to give feedback on 2 levels for me?
I have got a SMB 3 boss level
JBT-TG2-00H
I feel like the first phase is way too janky

I also have a 20 sec speedrun Boomerang level
QFF-KRS-WVF

Maybe I'm a weirdo but I've never had an issue coming up with ideas for stages.

I start usually by imagining a location or setpiece then think about what kind of enemies would naturally inhabit that area. For example, the current world I'm working on is machine themed. The four levels in that world are an Industrial Park, an oil(grape soda) refinery, a construction site, and the yet to be finished high tech security zone. For an enemy roll call I used hammer bros and rocky wrenches, since they naturally have construction tools, koopas with buzzy beetles to simulate hard hats, and now that we have them mechakoopas.

Listening to vidya game osts helps me a lot too, if I have the idea but not the blueprint for the layout in my mind I'll listen to some game music that reflects the theme or atmosphere of the stage I want to make.

Example, webm related and this youtube link.

Thinking of holding a level making contest instead of a collab maybe, with the prize being like, a 10 dollar game on steam or something like that, and then voting can be done through a strawpoll. Lemme know what you guys prefer, after my finals and everything are done I'll try to get the Yas Forums community events rolling.

How fun is world maker and the new additions? They look goddamn amazing. I'm seriously considering buying it digitally on my sister's switch. Do you guys feel it's worth it?

The world maker is nice, visually its a little limited on how much stuff you can cram in it but the new tools and enemies we got are awesome, the koopalings and the mecha koopas especially.

If you like 2d mario, it is definitely worth it imo. The worlds update is bigger than most understand, we have so many interesting toys to play with, and, if you look hard enough, you can generally find levels you like. There is a lot of crap to shift through, but its easier than MM1 imo.

You will think about your worlds more than the players will. This includes how 'samey' they feel.

I don't have trouble finding levels that I enjoy. I stick to expert and super expert level (not kaizos) and always have a good time, but finding levels on a modded switch is a pain in the ass.

Might just say fuck it and do it. Watching SMM2 episodes are always fun and I wanna attempt them. Fuck it, just gonna buy it.

...

how do you bros get screenshots from the switch sd card to your pc so fast?

Why you gotta lie like that?

A dummy twitter account. You can upload photos to it and save them there.

Just upload to a twitter account like literally everyone else
