Holy shit this game is fucking good. How in the fuck have I not heard about this until now?

Nobody talks about it and the devs have never had a slam dunk that makes everyone go back and play their whole library
soundtrack is great too
listen to the hummed and nonhummed versions
They're on youtube
It's probably the best game they've ever made but like said, as good as it is, it's not earth shattering.
>Super giant so Yas Forums avoids talking about it like the plague because >muh epic game store
Also
>Super giant so combat is gimmicky as fuck and hit or miss if you like it
It was a great game and I love the soundtrack. To bad The Boxer and Red have to have like 9 people watch them bang in a sword for the rest of eternity.
It's a great, gorgeous game with a killer aesthetic, great soundtrack and amazing style. My gripes are it's too short and the devs aren't sequel types, though.
Well that’s a goddamn shame because the amount of cool customization options there are in this game and gorgeous aesthetics are absolutely fantastic. Actually reminds me of TWEWY, which is one of my favorite games.
Been thinking of picking this up. What’s the gameplay like?
The devs don't advertise very much. The games they make are great indie titles that are relatively quick to complete. Meaning they kind of fall through the cracks or get played by people in between larger titles that are cause for more discussion, deserved or otherwise.
I love Transistor though and I'm really glad you found it. If I was a waifufag, she would be mine.
Turn based if thats your thing. I personally don't care for turn based but the game was a joy to play through.
An isometric action game where you can both attack normally, but also pause, and queque up a series of movements, actions and skills, then execute.
I'm probably an outlier in that Transistor is my least favourite super giant game. Its still great though, amazing story and gameplay unique and interesting enough.
Don't know what it is about Bastion and Pyre that has made me replay those and never look back at transistor though. Think it might be that it's just slightly harder to pick up than the other two.
That actually sounds pretty rad. I’ll give it a look.
I liked the aesthetic, music, and story more than the actual gameplay, but the gameplay is very far from bad
The way you're encouraged to experiment with different loadouts and limiters as a way to unlock lore is fucking genius (and is pretty much the only way to make me try something different lol)
Also, they're such a great couple. You really felt the love even with so little dialogue
OP here. Are Bastion and Pyre worth checking out too?
Not him. Yes.
I didn't like Bastion so much but tons of others say it's their best game so what do I know, play it.
And I thought Pyre was great. Although lighter on the gameplay than Transistor is, it's strategic and fun and there's even more story and character development in its place if you were missing that.
Lots of customization and no time to experiment.
The game is too short to match the amount of things you can do and that's why it's not a great hit
Bastion is better in almost every single way except the cyber-city aesthetic is pretty damn cool. Transistor overall felt like Bastion rehashed but with an even worse combat system.
Is the new Hades game they made any good?
>The game is too short to match the amount of things you can do and that's why it's not a great hit
Definitely agree. I'm not a huge replayer either so it was kind of wasted on me
>Supergiant come out and make three indie masterpieces
>their fourth game is a fucking early access roguelite
Was massively disappointed. I'm gonna wait for their next game.
It's rather short and there's not much to talk about
yeah true
Ive played through this game three times.
PS4
iOS
Switch
loved it each time. It's a perfect serving of a game, Not too short, not too long. The beach allows you to play trials and experiment with different builds to find the one you like
It’s early access so just guess.
It's pretty good, I'm amazed at the amount of detail at every turn, you do something or go somewhere, backtrack a bit and the sword always has something different or special to say, it's really well done and polished you can tell the devs out love into it, some of the attacks are a bit slow to me but maybe because I like to attack enemies normally instead of abuse the "superspeed" system which the games revolves around, other than that it's amazing.
But godamn, that sword sometimes is very annoying and never shuts up, btw if you take too much damage how do you repair him? He sounds half dead and glows red, I've been to different tweak spots and that bunker but he still sounds like that
Transistor's lore and setting is really scattershot which makes it hard to give a shit unless the game really, REALLY grabs you. You can tell Super Giant was trying the From Software "Take a crowbar to the flavour text and make everything deliberately vague" approach to worldbuilding. Presumably to generate buzz as diehard fans made bigass viral lore videos on Youtube and internet forums.
>Western game
>Beautiful poster girl
>developers are are from California
Nobody talks about it because it doesn't fit narration of /vpol/ where every western developer makes ugly wahmen and headquarters of LGBTQWTF is in Los Angeles.
I could never get into Transistor, the flow of combat feels really jank.
Its pretty good actually
Pyre > Transistor > Bastion
Which is a fucking shame, because Bastion and Transistor are way more popular and have even gotten physical console releases, while Pyre isn't even available digitally on Switch. I want a physical copy so fucking bad.
>We are paper boats floating on a stream
It felt off to me when I first played it but once you get into the flow of it and start getting more abilities, it really starts to shine.
AND IT WOULD SEEM
>that achievement for surviving enough battles with all limiters on
HEDWYN WAS THERE, AND PROVED TO ALL THAT HE WAS NO DESERTER
