It was okay

i agree

loved the Estus soup part

it is user, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :)

It's better than DS2 in every aspect, but since we're on a contrarian hellhole website where being wrong brings you brownie points, people will tell you otherwise.

It is, although the amount of 'remember dark souls 1?' is sickening

>inflammatory opinion

just stop why do people keep parroting this shit opinion its a sequel all sequels have lots of call back to the original, this brain dead opinion must come from ds2 fags who are made because ds2 pretends like ds1 didn't happen

but then the dlc makes a huge callback to dark souls 2 and nobody even notices lol

3 is literally 1.
"dude lmao windmill ruins"

its because people who say this are actually ds2 fags who are mad because ds3 disregards the lore of ds2 and builds of the ds1 instead

>because ds2 pretends like ds1 didn't happen
You’ve clearly never played DS2 if you think this

DS3 would be kino with the cut content. As it is now its pretty mediocre as a story continuation. It's still a great game though.

>look dude one area of the game is set in the same place and two of the bosses are slightly similar
>wow bro there literally the exact same game

Solid 6/10

>feels rushed and unfinished
>leaves the story unresolved
>doesn't touch on the primordial serpents whatsoever
>shitty map design that requires you to bonfire warp the moment you get to firelink
But other than that it was alright

daily reminder that serpents were originally going to be part of something big later in the game but they completely cut it for some reason.

i hadn't played it how would i even know how detached from the other two games it is?
the only mentions to the previous game is item description sometimes vaguely mentions something about lordran/gwyn and it has some reused assets that it

You're completely mistaken if you think it pretends the events of DS1 never happened. The world has changed so much and so much time has passed that only fragments of the old world survive. It's been forgotten by most

>It's better than DS2
True. But DS2 is absolute inexcusable dogshit made by a B-team with the talents of a G-team, so that bar isn't all too high to pass.

and then they realised that was a shit idea and rightly went back on it in ds3

but its incomplete

No, it was a good idea that they completely retconned in DS3 with no explanation

if they didn't want to have there shitty game retconned they should have made a better game, it reminds me a lot of the star wars sequels the the rise of skywalker was never going to be better then mediocre due to how shit the last Jedi was

Gael was a better way to finish the trilogy

I disagree. He's some literal who that only gets introduced in the DLC. Soul of Cinder was the perfect final boss

I don't mind Gael but it still leaves so many questions unanswered.
It explains the creation of a new world, the Painted World, but it still doesn't explain the old world.
Does everything just turn to ash? What do the serpents end up doing?

Him being a literal who is what makes it great. A showdown between two literal whos at the end of the world.

Can't be bigger than fighting the demon prince in ds1 firelink shrine, the ringed city/anor londo introduction with flying demons or gael having the same fucking boss intro as artorias.

Those things really doesn't need to be explained. Explaining all the mysteries almost always takes away the magic no matter the franchise. Better to leave some things to the players imagination if you ask me.

It sucks ass to play though.
There's more input lag and bullshit hitbox than DS2 and that's really saying something.

Every ending in DS3, both the stock ones and Gael just create more questions instead of answering anything. Is painting a new world the true natural cycle of the Dark Souls world? Is the current world in the games a painting too, and the fire and the dark soul were painted in it from the previous one like what happens at the end with the new painting? Is the Dark Souls world an endless series of paintings inside eachother with the fire and the dark soul coming from the previous painting? If that's the case then did the first painting come from a world that isn't a painting and what kind of a world was that? Fuck it who cares lmao I'm 100% sure even Fromsoft didn't know the lore at the end, they just threw a bunch of random shit around.

I stopped believing this after DS3. After a point, the ebin "subtle" Soulslike story telling becomes senseless rambling that people try to find patterns in until they go crazy. It's even worse because all the games have huge amounts of cut content and changes so the original plan has been blown the fuck up multiple times by this point.

Agree, people who dont like shockwaves are retarded plebs.

It's about a dying world needing to be reset. That's literally it. Not as complex or subtle as you make it seem like.
