>Sector 7 plate falls >Chapter 13 has you go back into the slums to check the damage >Look up and plate is clearly gone, but little evidence of it on the ground >Sector 7 slums looks mostly instact, just has bits of scrap everywhere and on the roads >Seventh Heaven crushed, but we still go right upto its rubble and look at the broken sign >Main pillar visible and lit up with no visible damage >No evidence of the upper plate or its bigger rubble around, nor evidence of any path one could grapple up to the top >Fast forward to Chapter 14 end >Grapple up a wall into Sector 7 from Sector 6 to start Chapter 15 >Suddenly Sector 7 is nothing but huge pile of upper plate collapsed buildings, wreckage, damage to the main pillar and rubble hanging down that all would have been at least partially visible earlier
Am I missing something or were they seriously so lazy they couldn't have had Chapter 13's return just have you covered from above in rubble, to at least give the illusion that an entire fucking plate just crushed the slums? Or better yet, skip that section entirely because you just spend most of it underground anyway?
Are the sectors massive ? So you only see part of sector 7 the part where Tifa lives since that’s one of the reasons why cloud is still in midgar

Who the fuck cares
Julian Parker
I clapped when I saw the stuffed cat.
Caleb Green
The big buildings didnt fall on the slums, just rubble The buildingins were more to the centre
Ryder Powell
The answer is always the same; laziness.

>TL;DR looks like more nitpicky bullshit, but it's an FF7R thread
Okay cool yeah whatever.
So here's my impression of FF7R drama: >Starts out good. >Get all the emotion out. Players feel emotion, characters emotions are understood. >Wow okay that was actually pretty- >Close up on pic related >Okay yeah I get- >Pic related and then another character pounds the ground >Hey you can stop no- >Tifa pummels the ground and screams >Barret swears he'll come back even though he's already dying >Close up on Clouds face looking down and off to the side with a subtle look of pain >Close up on Clouds other fist with the materia you quipped showing
>Sector 7 slums looks mostly instact, just has bits of scrap everywhere and on the roads Did we play the same game? Sector 7 was literally turned into a hallway with the amount of debris. You can't even pick out where the old buildings were.
Kayden Sullivan
Someone said that because that particular sector is somewhat far off from the center or something. But that still doesn't make much sense. Just how lucky that particular area have to be to not have chunks of buildings on top. It would be cool hypothetically to have to go through rubble, but the section was depicted in the remake to have a pretty large and safe walking areas. It's weird. They could've easily integrated the underground lab with the underground pathway that the slums resident used to run away from the falling plate. There's literally no reason to go back to sector 7. The moment Barret says let's go check up the bar, I was like, what?
James Cruz
They literally don't have any reason to go to the bar or sector 7. It's almost wishful thinking to even think anything would survive. It's likely they just don't have any other place to pad out gametime, so they had to force the player to go back and then accidentally found a hidden lab because they hinted at it on chapter 3.
Austin Turner
This isn't me hating the game by the way, I'm just saying they could shorten some of these scenes....
Christopher Thomas
If that bugs you, the Aerith head shake near the end must bug the hell out of you. It did to me. Fucking hell, it's been literally minutes and you're using the same "I don't know what to say" head shake. Use another expression damn it.
Kayden Campbell
they rescue Wedge. so something happens
Christopher Richardson
Actually the buildings are more towards the edge on sctor 7 plate according to this picture. But chapter 15 really scales the whole thing up a couple of levels
>far off from the center >suppprt pillar (clearly seen at the center of every plate) is so close to Seventh Heaven you could throw a ball from there and hit it
Like, Sector 7's ground shouldn't even be visible. It would have been completely buried by the giant upper plate. That was the entire point, to flatten the slums with the plate. We spend the bulk of the chapter in the Dirge of Cerberus deepground shit anyway. Trying to show thst somehow the slums are mostly intact was ao unnecessary
>depicts Wedge to see a huge chunk of plate is falling on top of him >somehow he chunk is gone in chapter 13 and Wedge is somehow in underground lab Shit becomes a lot dumber the more you think. True. I don't mind the idea, but the depiction in chapter 13 feels REALLY off. They could at least depict it like the collaped highway, like somehow those scraps created a big enough tunnel to have people walk underneath it. That shit would at least make sense. The way it's depicted in chapter 13 almost makes it looks like it was windswept by a massive tornado.
Lucas Perez
The original was better.
Hunter Gray
Oh my god I hate that head shake so fucking much. She does this when you're in the singularity area near the end too.
Adrian Torres
literally CinemaSins tier nitpicking
Bentley Cooper
The platefall is the emotional core of this game. Inconsistencies in the fallout leave the player confused rather than emotional and that's valid complaint.
It's not even an inconsistency, the slums are fucking destroyed lmao
Mason Garcia
>Rude keeps Reno from shooting Tifa >Rude then drops an entire sectors plate on her head
Thomas Martinez
Tifa is so fucking pretty
Chase Sullivan
They are heavily damaged but they shouldn't fucking be there. Where's the god damn city that fell on them? It doesn't makes sense.
Brody Adams
The platefall? they went to lengths to show anybody who mattered survived, most of the sector got evacuated, heck even the sign to the bar will live again, It was an important event that changed the characters forever in the OG, here it might as well not have happened at all.
Carter Cox
I know. It doesn't look like a massive plate fell over it. It looks like an earthquake happened.
Samuel Cruz
Elmyra really never got jumped by bandits in the slums when it was just her
Dominic Lewis
Compare the view from Chapter 13, looking up towards the main pillar from the ground to the view from Chapter 15 looking down to the rubble from on top of the fallen plate.
It doesn't even remotely match up. It's like in Chapter 13, the upper plate just vanished and in Chapter 15 it's suddenly everywhere.
I think it’s a valid criticism. When you’re climbing the rubble in Ch 15 and looking down on the ruins of Sector 7, it looks how you’d expect it to. When you’re actually down in it, it just looks like a bad earthquake.
Definitely didn’t ruin the game, but it’s inconsistent for sure.
Hunter Wright
Yeah but if they were realistic about it then we couldn't go to Deepground and have Wedge live.
Parker Flores
My guess is that the return to Sector 7 was added later in development as some last minute padding. It was completely unnecessary and visually inconsistent from what we see in Ch 15.
Cooper Morales
Cat lovers don't deserve to live anyway.
Carson Reyes
I never noticed
Jaxson Brooks
not that you mention it, you're right. an entire small city just fell on the slums, yet all the debris just looks like the slums' buildings.maybe the debris happened to miss that spot where you can walk.
Sebastian Cooper
>has a crush on Tifa >she knows he was the one who destroyed her life all over again I hope he wasn't planning on making a move
