I honestly dare someone to find a better 3D JRPG. >Doesnt have the illusion its linear with some basic overworld >interesting locations >Journey makes total thematic sense within the game design >amazing cast >Best bro, best mentor >Incredible OST >Pushed the limits of the PS2 when everyone else was still in babymode. >SquareSOFT not Enix. >Most robust post-game >Blitzball could have honestly been a game itself.
Wakka and Auron are the only likable characters in this game
Isaiah Morris
FFX has the greatest combat in the series.
Ryan Hernandez
I can't. X is still my all time favorite.
Nolan Cooper
only issue is unskippable cutscenes and englihs dub. but yeah I love this game.
Andrew Torres
XII is better
Henry Davis
It's an unusual one, in that it gets more simplified as it goes on whereas other games get more complex. End game boss fights are just spamming quick hit over and over.
So no, it doesn't get better.
Isaac Flores
Unskippable Custscenes did it for me. There was a boss i couldn't get through because i am shit at turn based combat. Everytime i died i had to sit through this shitty cutscene. I just stopped at that point.
Ryder Taylor
I will assume this is the JRPG thread. So I wanted to play FF V and got the patched rom as recommended, but the ROM is slow as fuck, I cannot even walk from one point to the other, so I tried out the normal ROM and it's working perfectly fine, can someone tell me what the fuck is going on? I can play PSP games perfectly fine, I highly doubt a GBA ROM is that heavy to slow things down that bad.
Joseph Ortiz
i got to the 3rd fight against seymour and he had some bullshit attack that kills everyone in my party and there was no way to win, and you have to watch some 5 minute long cutscene every time. i did enjoy the game until that point though.
Kevin Reed
I'm not sure if this is the boss you're talking about, but there's one towards the end of the story that has a 5 minute cutscene beforehand, and then instakills you if you cure the status they inflict you with (like you would any other status). It's an absolute cheapest shot I've ever seen in a game.
Josiah Foster
I can't really put much input on this without being clouded by nostalgia since this was my first FF game before going back to VI. I will say I played it a lot through high school and never got tired of it.
Robert Morris
Its shit and Vesperia is better
Jaxson Evans
It's not even the best PS2 JRPG
Levi Sullivan
BLITZBALL IS FUCKING GARBAGE.
How fucking dare they OPEN UP the game with this amazing looking sport only to give this borderline 2D, easily cheesable boring as fuck minigame.
I wanted to free swim and tackle/pass/shoot in the fucking SPHERE of water.
Another weird thing, while the Sound Patch version run like shit, when I speed toogle it goes up to 2000% speed, but when I speed toogle the normal version it goes up to 500%, fuck it, I'll just play the normal version, impossible to play the Sound Patch one.
Camden Morgan
>Bloodborne >Dark Souls >Shadow Tower Abyss >Monster Hunter World >Nier and Nier: Automata >Demon's Souls >Xenoblade Chronicles
Robert Cruz
i love ffx but right now im playing through each game in the ff series from 1 - 12 and only skipping 11
real quick user, is the Nier remake just the first game, and then i can buy Nier Automata and haev it make sense?
Blake Robinson
Really wanted to love Shadow Tower Abyss, but just couldn't. It sets a great tone and has a superior setting to KF, but KF4 is just an overall more solid experience. Abyss has an amazing start but falls flat as it goes on.
Christian Evans
>>Doesnt have the illusion its linear with some basic overworld
lmao the reaching
Adrian Price
Whats a good final fantasy to start on?i think ive only played like on the ds a few years back and thats it
Adam Diaz
I don't care what other say, ffx and ff 1 psp remake are my absolute favorite final fantasy games.
>real quick user, is the Nier remake just the first game, and then i can buy Nier Automata and haev it make sense? The remake is supposed to be only of the first game yes. Only difference is that it will be a remake of the japanese PS3 version which featured an adolescent protagonist protecting his sister. The japanese Xbox 360 version and western release had an adult protagonist protecting his daughter. Besides this all the other characters, setting, gameplay etc. was the same.
In general you can play Drakengard 1, 3, Nier and Automata each on their own without playing any of the other games. They take place either milennia apart or a across multiple timelines or dimensions apart. Part of the fun of course is finding out how they connect and you'll get a reference here and ther. But about 90% if the experience is something unique to each game that you won't lose by not playing the other ones.

dq 8 and 11
Camden Morgan
>Xenoblade Chronicles Possibly the most overrated JRPG of all time.
Jaxson Thompson
What about the secret superbosses
Christian Hall
Death immunity stops it fine too.
Christian Garcia
Why did you forget to put a 2 at the end of Dark Souls? Also before you talk about it being shit, DS2 is a great ‘RPG’ in terms of builds, weapons and unlocking shit so it’s a great JRPG too
Eli Ross
Yunalesca is a great boss, and very well designed as well. Loved it.
Zachary Baker
I just beat it for the first time about 4-5 days ago. It was incredible. Been listening to the soundtrack while I work ever since.
24 hours after really digesting it and loving it. I fired up this 7 remake the internet is gaga over it.... it's just... okay. It's not a Final Fantasy game though. It's like Uncharted with hack and slash style combat and final fantasy skins
Christian Gomez
What are some good JRPGs for the PS4? I’ve already played the Souls games
Ethan James
DQ11
Luke Sanchez
I don't think it's really that highly rated. I'd say it's just-enough-rated.
Charles Flores
Not many people talk about it but when they do they mostly suck it off like crazy.
Juan Sanchez
I didn't forget, it's just that it's one of the weakest rpgs FromSoft has created besides Evergrace.
Caleb Clark
Actually not that bad user. I mean 99.9% of jrpgs have trash combat anyways. You have some good OST some good Lulu some good atmosphere. Pretty chill game if you just want to coom and not zoom.
