The main character is a dickhead, but it's cool because I don't self insert into games
>killing third worlders
I don't see the problem
Fucking kino videogame. I don't care what anyone syas.
really activates those almonds
You haven't played it.
Yes I have
Its just an Apocalypse Now/Heart of Darkness ripoff. Nothing special.
Yes
NOO NOT THE HECKIN CIVILIANERINOS! WE DID A BURNY WURNY ON THE INNOCENTYBOIS AND FEEL BIG GUILTERINO!
lmao
Absolutely, fuck burgers and fuck sandniggers
For today's brainlet discussion topic, let's focus in on the main question:
Are the loading screens addressing Walker or the player?
If the latter, are they shaming you based off of the choices Walker made (ie, the player had no involvement in or ability to choose an alternative), or is introspection on the game as a whole?
What evidence in the game do you have to support these claims?
It is in the world of video games where stories are usually barely there drek at best. Context is important.
And not only that, but it's really not that similar to Heart of Darkness. It's only similar on a surface level and a conceptual level, not in any real narrative sense. In Heart of Darkness, the main character, Marlow, comes in at the end and only sees the aftermath. It's a very different story when told through Kurtz's eyes and you're actually seeing the descent and living through it. I actually haven't seen Apocalypse Now, so I can't comment on that, though.
I feel like we had this thread yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that.
it`s Groundhogs Day:The Line.
fuck soliders, of any kinds, wether or not sand or burger nigger they always gloryboi twats, that wouls murder eachother families on command
Is this game worth playing through for the first time in 2020?
Just stop playing dude. xD
>going from tacticool "enemy down" to just "fuck you" when you shoot someone
6/5 kino
This user has low t and is most likely a gay person
>just stop playing this game you paid $60 for you fucking horrible person
it's almost like it's a game with very interesting themes which warrant discussion....
It was best experienced when you didnt know the twist and it seemed just like another generic shooter, but yeah its still worth it.
Actually, Yahtzee of all people had a very interesting thing to say about the game's railroading
>"Are we really in control of Captain Walker or do we merely represent the last vestige of self-awareness in his increasingly damaged mind as he railroads us into committing atrocities, and our distrust and fear of him grows in parallel to that of the men in his command as he weakly tries to rationalize to both them and us until we feel as disconnected from him as the rest of reality and. . ."
He didn't finish the sentence, but you can see his point, right?
My nigga’s just getting his cosplay on
>is horribly lynched instead of living a ptsd life
>"lucky"
This picture is simultaneously better and worse than most of the gore I've seen.
I don't see much, if any blood, but I wonder if his blood just fucking evaporated from the heat and pressure.
Any game where the argument is not to play it is some bullshit. Interesting take on PTSD otherwise and the in game narrative is pretty good but fuck the "hey man you could've saved those pixels if you stopped playing your 60$ game" theme.
The biggest flaw with spec ops: the line is the location choice. It's virtually impossible to make people guilty about killing nonwhites. I couldn't give less of a fuck about what happens to """people""" in Dubai. If the game took place in Europe, then you'd actually have a real emotional connection to the civilians and you'd feel terrible about the atrocities you commit like the game wants you to.
Also, the VA work is kino as FUCK. Post favorite lines
>"I....I didn't mean to hurt anybody"
>"No one ever does, Walker"
I have to admit, for all the shit I give the game, Lugo's death is the one time it made me really, really uncomfortable
I do wonder why they chose Dubai. Is it because of how the place has really cool architecture, and they wanted to highlight how badly the storm hit the place?
I mean, look at this. Fucking gorgeous.
I think it's asking the question as to why people both develop and play games that glorify war and killing in the first place
As it should.
Want to hear something cool?
What if -GASP- there WAS no hero in this situation?
>Brutal insurgents
>Mentally unstable delta leader
>CIA agent looking to basically commit genocide
Yada yada.
I liked the game.
It`s just that I haven't seen the Yas Forums discussions evolve beyond:
>its pretensions
>no
I mean, look at the color palette of the game. You got your browns and grays, sure, but the night levels, the red sandstorms, the gaudy palaces with rainbows of color, the blue aquarium, the skyscraper decorations, etc
what did the insurgents do wrong? They were just defending themselves from stupid aggressive burgers
It had some alright music in it. youtube.com

The argument on the devs side would just be responding to demand because games as a medium are now nothing more than a cash cow in the triple A scene. As for playing the simple answer is that we're violent as shit and can't act on it. Still this question's a lot better than the usual "Bro you should just stop playing what you paid for bro it's so complex." That shit's just retarded.
