VII is a good game. Not fantastic, but good. Everything else is pretty meh, but you might like the humor. I mean, as a non-weeb, you probably won't, but eh.

They are hard to stomach even as a weeabo. Literally bottom tier iron weeabo crashgrab.

I like them, but I cant see myself recommending them to anyone unless you're a weeb. If you really want to give them a try, just play Rebirth 1 since its cheap and nothing else.

It is cool, the games just get better and better (the main line ones, that is).

non-weeb here who likes rpgs, the core gameplay isn't that great but there's lots of additional content and bs to do if you like grinding. Skip all story sequences though and only buy one game because they're basically all the same

I had conversations with my friends that do like anime and can't understand why I like Neptunia.
I think being a massive videogame fag helped me getting into the series, and the characters are cool.

Weeb here. I tried the first game on Vita and couldn't stomach it. It feels like it has the budget of a shoe string and the depth of a puddle.

I only did like 2 dungeons though so maybe it gets better? The characters kind of piss me off.

The actual gameplay isn't that great. It's serviceable, but the real appeal is the girls. The writing isn't amazing, but the main characters all have more than one defining characteristic so that's above average, and the character interactions are amusing if sometimes predictable. A sitcom RPG, basically.

But there are anime that are just like that, or better yet, deviate from that.

I know Neptunia is silly, but it's a cute sillyness.
When I say that I hate anime, I am generalizing, to be honest. I do like Ghost in the Shell and Monster, for example, I watched Hokuto no Ken 3 or 4 years ago and I was able to finish, it not bored me, it was entertaining and the art style was very pleasant to me.
But all the "new" ones I really can't get into it.
As a side note, I hated Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it was too much anime for me. XC1? My favorite JRPG ever. Some things click, others don't.

I'm glad you liked it, I only got 7 hours into it. I just wasnt a fan of the combat change.
