How should I build my team?

It doesn't matter. The game isn't hard. Only thing is that your main determines the final boss. Also, pick a male character, the female to his immediate right is the character that he shares story points and dialogue with. You can let that dictate how you build your team, but other than that, pick who you want.

I never liked SoM because of its mix of fake real time combat and seemingly turn based spells, but liked FF Adventure, even if it went on for far longer than it needed to. how is this game in comparison?
