I can't even win online. I can crush level 9 CPUs without dying once but online I always get them down to the last stock and fail. The massive amounts of lag and cheap campy shit people do just aren't fun.

I forgot what the video was, but it summed up why practicing against AI is terrible. AI does not adapt to your playing techniques the way humans do. The large part of online is reading. If you're performing the same airdodges/combos/aerials then you
become very easy to read. It is ALWAYS best to practice online vs. humans no matter how garbage you are. You learn how to read each individual characters capabilities when used by proficient players.

I should add though, right now it is ESPECIALLY difficult to get into elite because over a billion people are living life in quarantine right now. As a result, online has seen a surge in new/returning players. The Global GSP increased greatly these last few months. The win-loss ration is so hard to balance when your GSP goes down so much more than it rises.

I'll win 6 matches with banjo and see a 80k GSP rise, loose one match and instantly loose all that GSP gain.

You know its true. People are all cancer in quickplay.
Its why I moved on to only playing in arenas. This way I get real matches with people who want to actually play the game, unlike quickplay where its much more likely to be matched with some autismo who just abuses the input lag of online so he can increase a meaningless number.
Also I've had less laggy experiences even in arenas full of 8 people than I've had in quickplay.

If you are loosing to a spammer than your just as garbage as they are. If you know what move they are going to keep making, you can adapt and punish. Stop playing defense and play offense. If they are playing offense you play defense.

There's nothing to adapt to. If a Ganondorf grabs me with side special then he gets a free kill because of the input lag fucking up the timing to tech the move, making it impossible to avoid the followup fsmash or dtilt.
It makes escapes harder to perform as well, so shit like Ridley's side B just racks up boatloads of damage for free.

I have my main, my secondary, and all my fuck around characters I only really play against my shitter friends in elite.
Nana's AI made me not want to bother getting any more of the characters I don't play into elite though.

I feel bad for anyone that didn't get deep into elite while there were still tryhards at lower GSPs.
The only people still playing QP at this point are tourneyfags in the top 5% or so and the casuals spread around the rest.
Thankfully I got my main deep into elite at launch, and honestly I occasionally forget you can actually change the rules from 3 stock matches.

When I first started playing I wasn't doing good in quickplay so I kept going to the arenas and now I got all my characters in elite. People in the arenas are crazy

I play Hero too but fuck man he has so many bad matchups, he's ridiculously slow with his attacks.
