how tf do you play this game? i keep getting BTFO by zombies and theres no select between normal hard and easy its just fucking hard or easy
How tf do you play this game...
...is this your first classic RE game or something? Anyone who's beaten all of the RE1 and 2 should not have any issues
>fucking hard or easy
The "Hard" is just literally the "normal" difficulty of the predecessor games. As in: you DON'T start with crazy arsenal, and need to actually think, look for loot, and conserve supplies. It's not hard at all.
Hard is normal, they just translated it like that to english
Dodge zombies if you can, but always maintain distance and slowly pop at them with your pistol if you need to
play slow and smart
The trick is to run by as many zombies as you can, and only kill them when you can't get by without taking a hit. Also, if you don't fight Nemesis, you should have more than enough ammo to get through the game.
what do you mean by "dodge" do you mean run around I know that they added a "dodge" button or something i have no idea how to use it
I mostly mean run around, yeah
Dodging is a mechanic, but it's finicky as hell so don't rely on it
Reminder that the Amerifat (international) releases of RE games were the default the harder difficulties compared to the Japanese releases which were easier.
Dang I just beat this again an 4 hours ago. I can confirm, not fighting Nemesis leaves you with enough bullets to basically kill everything.
I think the dodge is the aim button, or the shoot button while aiming while being attacked. I've never figured out how to use it, so I still just run from Nemesis.
By dodge he means run around, but there is a dodge option in the game, it's just hard to use, and nearly impossible to use against zombies.
There are two ways of dodging. One is to press aim right when a monster is about to hit you, and the other is to press fire while you're already aiming, again right before you get hit. The problem with zombies is their attacks have almost no windup, so it's basically impossible to dodge them without just knowing exactly how far away from you they are before they grab you. Until you get that down, I would suggest just running around zombies, and stick to just using the dodge against Nemesis, whose attacks have a far more obvious windup, making him easier to dodge.
The dodge "button" is just pressing the aim button during the frames of an enemy attack, its super unreliable until you've played the game to death. Mainly focus on running around zombies. It's a little easier than RE2 since the areas are wider in general, but the actual number of zombies is much higher
Get used to resetting a lot. RNG will fuck you over several times, and there's just nothing you can do about it, but reset to try and get better results so you don't have to waste resources on shit that wasn't your fault.
RE3 is way harder than 1 or 2, and the RNG makes it impossible to route out how you're going to progress. I finished both of them, and yet I've had so many issues in 3 that I've almost dropped it.
I'd also probably recommend dumping some gunpowder into making a stack of magnum rounds, it helps with the boss fights more than the enhanced ammo does, at least in my opinion. Haven't really tried grenade stuff though.
>RE3 is way harder than 1 or 2,
nah, RE1 is still harder.
And I was 11 at the time when RE3 came out.
Hard is just normal. It's no beginners RE though, should play at least RE2 first.
RE1 is the easiest of the three, and I'm speaking as someone who played RE1 first.
So? We all played it then.
What RNG? You just mean the way the game swaps items and enemy placements around for different playthroughs? Why the fuck would you reset for that?
>RE3 is way harder than 1 or 2
The only difficult parts of RE3 are the Nemesis fights. If you just run away every time he shows up, the game is just as easy as RE2.
Do you already aim up with the shotgun for point-blank headshots? It deletes zombies.
I have played both RE2 OG and the Remake of 1 tho still having trouble with this one
Only do that for single zombies. If there's more than one, you wanna aim straight to take out as many as you can.
That's a bit strange then, I played it for the first time somewhat recently, and didn't notice much of a difficulty increase
Freeze rounds just completely break the game almost. It makes Nemesis into a total joke.
What part are you at? The Clock Tower Nemesis fight and all the stupid obnoxious hunter gangbangs near the end of the game are the only parts I’d say are particularly difficult, at least in comparison to 1 or 2’s difficulty.
>You just mean the way the game swaps items and enemy placements around for different playthroughs?
It wouldn't be an issue if it were only random for different playthroughs, but sadly that isn't the case. Item placement and enemy placement is randomized even in the same playthrough.
I've had several moments where I reset and then suddenly some rooms no longer have items, and some areas are filled with crows instead of dogs. It makes things impossible to plan around.
There's also the issue of zombies being extremely random. Some move at a slow speed, others sprint at you almost as fast as Nemesis, and they just randomly decide which speed to use when you load a room, the same zombie can be slow or fast, it makes avoiding them a total crap shoot. Some die in 4 handgun bullets, others die in 12. Sometimes when they reach 0 HP, they go into a crawl to land a cheapshot on you.
While this guy is right for straight lines, if you can get two zombies shoulder-to-shoulder, a shell in between the heads gets both. I don't mean to spoil it, but I think things go better if you pick the aggressive options in the B&W choices, too.
huh odd. Some advice then: just save often, LOOK UP HOW TO MAKE FREEZE GRENADES, they are more valuable than magnum rounds and you will be glad you did by the mandatory Clock tower fight considering you are struggling. Also, if you happen to ever be forced to fight Nemesis inside a cable car: DON'T. You can end it by simply walking through a door you just came in from. Good luck, don't give up on it.
I wouldn’t say 3 is harder, it’s just designed far worse and makes you put up with bullshit 1 and 2 never had. REmake is the only game I’d consider even remotely difficult
If you're having trouble like this guy clearly did, try bringing both a handgun and something bigger all the time. I find the Berretta and shotgun can get you through most rooms. You've got a bunch of inventory slots, use 'em.
You're making me want to replay it again, dang.
The shittier design is what makes it harder. Its just hard for the wrong reasons.
I've beaten every RE game and most of the spinoffs as well except for 3. Some games have good RNG, RE3 has "fuck you, you're not allowed to have fun" RNG.
What parts of the game are RNG? I’ve never heard about this before
>I've had several moments where I reset and then suddenly some rooms no longer have items, and some areas are filled with crows instead of dogs. It makes things impossible to plan around.
>It makes things impossible to plan around.
That's a good thing. The game keeps you on your toes.
The items didn't disappear, they were just shuffled around. As for the enemies, I don't see how that's a bad thing.
>There's also the issue of zombies being extremely random. Some move at a slow speed, others sprint at you almost as fast as Nemesis, and they just randomly decide which speed to use when you load a room, the same zombie can be slow or fast, it makes avoiding them a total crap shoot.
To mitigate this, the game gave you a dodge button and a lot of ammo compared to RE2.
>Sometimes when they reach 0 HP, they go into a crawl to land a cheapshot on you.
This happens in RE2 all the time. The answer is to not be so close when you kill them.
I don't know man, you're complaining about a lot of shit that I don't even see as flaws.
Not him, but I found the freeze rounds to kinda suck just like any other grenade rounds. The guns are much better at handling situations since they just deal damage in a general direction and you don't have to pray for a slow projectile to not miss the mark.
Also they aren't very effective against Nemesis unless you know how you're supposed to fight him, I couldn't beat the Nemesis clock tower fight using the freeze rounds, used all 18 to no effect, though like 4-5 of them missed, and then I looked up Carcinogen's no damage run, and saw that you had to down him with the magnum first and only then would the freeze rounds do anything.
