Is Red Dead Redemption 2 the best looking video game of all time?

It definitely has great art direction but I'm sure there are a ton of games out there that look better on a technical level

But what other games have that same attention to detail? Sure the TAA is pretty blurry, and some textures are pretty low resolution, but the volumetric lighting, art style, and insane attention to detail to even the smallest things, which to some people is a detriment to the gameplay, but it all ties together to make it the most immersive and realistic feeling video game world I've ever seen. I've played a lot of fucking Vidya, and yes the open world isn't a game like Skyrim for example with tons to explore, but what's there feels so integral to the entire game world as a whole that I can't think of a single game that looks and feels as realistic with the same sense of scale. The world is massive.
TLDR; RDR2 is objectively the best looking video game ever created.

Wrong and wrong and wrong.
RDR2 is barely an upgrade to GTA 5 graphically.
Deus Ex MD is detail peak.
AC Odyssey is scale + detail peak.
RDR2 is just mediocre at fucking everything dude. They don't even have that many fucking NPCs around EVER, god damn it makes the entire place feel like you're playing Breath of the Wild. There's also very little interactivity at all. No wonder they can display a horse's cunt on screen, they're saving all that actual intensive resources that other games use for NPCs (rightfully so otherwise you get the bland empty RDR2).

You're literally confusing "immersion" which RDR2 does a good job at, with graphics. They are not connected in the slightest, you can have the ugliest 8bit game ever and still have it be incredibly immersive. Same vice versa.

TLDR; RDR2 is mediocre graphically, play more games.
