Atleast in the other routes she decided on her own that she was in fact wrong and shouldn't be in charge of the church and is willing to accept Byleth for who he is and offers her position. But again: It took Edelgard declaring war on the church and the world in order to get her that far.

with that said i'm actually having trouble remembering a single empire character that is actually religious and believes in the goddess, i can name marianne and mercedes for sure, but they aren't empire, Lorenz for a fact states that he doesn't believe in the goddess but he'll still attend church for political reasons.

maybe i'll take a harder look at characters, but its alot easier to find characters that flat out state they don't believe in sothis, than they do.
