I'm pretty sure Camelot are developping everything Nintendo wants them to make i.e. sports games. Doubt they have much leyway to do that they want, especially with DD flopping it's been almost 10 years now..
I believe most of the older people that worked on golden sun also left camelot over the years so there's that too.

Significantly longer for an order of magnitude fewer sales. Mario sports games reuse the same engines and assets over and over. JRPGs, by design, are very wide, even if they're not that deep. Having to model hundreds of monsters, hundreds of maps, hundreds of weapons, etc. is a lot more work than taking the stock Mario models and having him walk around a rectangular room with a ball.

I tried the first game and I admit I got filtered by the infamous reaction dialogues (huh? No way! That cant be... etc) before I had more than like 3 characters.
I want to enjoy these games for whatever reason but anytime I try the first I just get bored pretty quickly. I want to get deeper in but Im too impatient for these games I guess.

Yeah, the plot/dialogue is pretty retarded, but the combat is fun, especially if you use the reladed mod.

I'd say stick with it. Can't argue that the dialogue drags on way too much and the reactions are completely useless but I really enjoyed the gameplay/soundtrack and the story albeit its simplicity.
I'd say patch it with the hard mode cause the game was easy when I was 9 years old so It's definitely too easy

Some of the puzzles made me almost stop playing, having to do your little magic animation every time you wanted to do something. It can be REALLY slow.

I second this. I played these mods after having replayed the originals to death, they add some much needed challenge to two games that already had some depth to the customization system but never really encouraged you to experiment because of how easy they were. I didnt get around to finishing TLA version but I will someday.
