What video game has the best story?
I think it just boils down to mainstream gaming has become so shit that making a good game is now considered revolutionary.
New Vegas's theme of "moving on" is some of the most in depth I've seen of any vidya that stretches beyond the main story but companions and DLC.
I doubt that, it's more like Automata just fills a niche that both the mainstream and the "hardcore" crowd can appreciate, kind of like Dark Souls but with less filtering since there's the cute robutt and anime appeal
Original Planescape Torment, or the Beamdog remake where Morte never says anything misogynistic?

>Wanted to make a game that united everyone
>Game ended up dividing everyone
>Fetchquest simulator
>Insults America and Australia despite his hackery storylines being borrowed from Movies and Books.
Kojima's Death Stranding is the reason why we cant have nice things.
Maybe so but be it with the help of other writers or the editor himself 2, 3 and Revengence had fantastic writing.
