Let's talk Zelda. Does anyone else think the 3DS remakes look worse than the N64 versions?

I don't. Even in that image it very clearly looks better.

too bright and the moon looks like a wuss now

The games look better, but the style is worse

>Character models
better
>Textures
worse

of course it's better. matches the concept art a whole lot better. a few areas look better in the original, but that's true of every 3d remake.

play MM3D with this github.com/leoetlino/project-restoration for the best experience

I do.
They also play much worse.

no.

It's more accurate to the concept art but it lacks SOUL.

The problem with 3DS isn't so much the texturing by itself IMO. It's the overblown lighting compared to the original. It basically behaves as fucking up the contrast and brightness of textures.

Here's the remake OOT deserves

I can understand not liking some of the gameplay changes but anyone who thinks the original looks better is retarded and blinded by nostalgia.

The original looks far better when it comes to the art-style and atmosphere.

you'd have to be retarded to think the models and textures look worse than the n64 version
I was looking for this, thanks user

Nah. In fact artstyle and atmosphere is exactly where its greatly improved.

NINTENDO

HIRE

Recreations are never as good as original content

Should the apocalypse be a theme relevant to the series?

They look better and has some QoL here and there but the overall experience is just slightly better than the original N64 version for OoT and for MM, well, it needs that patch some nerd made.
I hope that Nintendo, once done with Wii U ports, starts to port some 3DS games to the Switch, maybe they could add further improvements and some extra content

THIS

What's wrong with it, user? It looks gorgeous.

why is botw so washed out? Everything is so foggy

You can change the color options in Cemu's graphics packs.

What the fuck is this, JJ. Abrams take on zelda? Imagine thinking this is good.

They need to port these to HD on Switch, with lighting that's more advanced and closer in coloring to the original. One thing that's cool, is that there are hacks for the 3DS version that restore many of the boss fights and other changes back to what they were in the N64 game. The revised controls of the 3DS version and the changes Twinmold fight were awful but I liked many other things about the remake.

The OoT remake attempts to fit the style of the official artwork better, however I think the 3DS wasn't powerful enough to truly match it. Stuff like Hyrule Field just looks cramped and small with the newer graphics since it's still the same layout as the original just with somewhat better looking textures etc.

Link's animations look really weird, like now the frame rate's better and the animations are smoother which result in Link's run looking like this weird slow run-walk thing. Not to mention it's like they took the artwork of his adult design and just grafted it over his stocky n64 model so he looks strangely stocky and oddly proportioned. Plus his cap sticks up at the end which also looks awkward.

I think certain limitations from the n64 led to some aspects of the original looking better since your mind can fill in the blanks, or the crude graphics and textures lend themselves better to the darker areas of the game. However a lot of the more colorful areas like the castle town or Zora's Domain look flat out better and quite good.

It's inconsistent, I would say 90% of OoT3D looks better than the original while 70% or MM3D looks better. The porlbem is that when they fumble, they fumble HARD, as it is normally lighting or atmosphere related.

jesus that's so much better

Yeah I like a lot of the options. You can tweak it anyway you like. Complete with Anti-Aliasing and stuff. Most clarity packs I leave off, but I do like the 1080p/4K fixes and the AA.

THIS IS WHAT GRAPHIC WILL LOOK LIKE
