ps1
has more great games than N64 and dreamcast is a joke.
wtf is the thing in the middle? is that a xbox?
For me, it's Saturn. Arcade games with infinite replayability trump N64 and PSX games which are fun for a little bit, but get boring later on.
N64 and 4 controllers
PS1 obviously, not even a competition. Even if you can read Japanese the Saturn library still doesn’t stack up against the PS1 library unless you are a mega weeb who mostly just plays dating game shit.
PC and a modem
Saturn with the ram expansion cart. All those arcade ports man.
Why not opt for the Saturn and its modem :)
I'm tempted to say N64 just because a lot of the PS1 didn't age well and I've grown out of JRPGs. I will be very sad to let go of Crash, Spyro, etc though.
PS1 with pirate chip please
>Implying N64 games aged better
>five 10/10 games
>600 8/10 games and three 10/10 games
PS1 is really hard to beat
8/10 games
Name 20 of them.
PS1 has the best variety of games by far, but the Saturn outdoes it in terms of Arcade games.
three Resident Evils
three Crash Bandicoots
three Colony Warseses
three Tomb Raiders
three Spyros
and five Square RPGs chosen at random
Zoomers deserve death
Alright, so what are the 10/10 games?
what?
how am I a zoomer?
ps1
pic related
n64 because i have friends
Symphony of the Night, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy Tactics
>Dreamcast
When will this meme die? PSX and SAT have tons of multiplayer games.
ps1 has an argument for having the best RPG library to this day
n64 kids like me were stuck with this cruel fucking joke
Single player, PS1.
Have friends? N64 everyday.
There you go, /thread.
PS1 then Saturn.
N64 is worthless trash and is when nintendo stopped to be a good company
64 has better multiplayer games.
Fuck off, Quest 64 was great and the first fully 3D RPG of its time. Tired of this meme opinion
*exists*
no
ok
I had both PS and 64 so this is a hard choice. Playstation has far more and arguably better single player games for the most part, aside from 3D platformers. 64 has Mario Party, Smash and Goldeneye. But as fun as the 64 was with my brothers I think I'd still have to go with Playstation, there were enough co-op games to still have fun with and we were used to taking turns with everything anyway. I don't think I knew anyone with a Saturn.
Saturn
Fuck Nintendies
Fuck Snoy
>Quest 64 was great
just curious what's it like coping this hard for over two decades
even IF quest 64 were anything above a 2/10 it still doesn't compare to the literal dozens of 8's and 9's on the ps1
lol is this webm supposed to be impressive
PlayStation because why would the single greatest games system ever made not automatically be the best one in its generation
We're still seeing people clamor for remakes of PlayStation 1 games more than any other in its generation and more than any from the fourth and sixth generations either
It was a time capsule of the industry's pinnacle of creativity and I should hesitate to fantasize about us ever reaching that again
impress my nuts in your mouth faggot
Can someone explain this to me?
Like, why was an enormous amount of time and effort spent to port the second (but not the first or the third) RE game to the 64?
>*comes out at the very end of the system's life*
Thanks?
For Saturn fags having an exclusive is the impressive part
I ended up getting it and beating it before ps2 came out
Because it was the best one and would sell better than the other two put together
It was also the ground work for Resident Evil 0 on N64 which didn't end up happening
The true competitor for the PS1 in that respect is the SNES
Saturn is the king of 2D sprite games, not to mention all those near-Arcade ports of fighting games like KOF and Marvel vs Street Fighter.
Funny thing is Saturn is the only console of its generation to have kept its best exclusives. PSX games weren't even exclusive to PSX back then, let alone in the subsequent years.
It's a tough choice between PS1 and N64. PS1 had a huge library but N64's few good titles were great.
>PS1
Tons of JRPGs, Medievil, Ape Escape, the good port of Megaman Legends + MML2, Twisted Metal, and Crash & Spyro
>N64
Mario, Zelda, Ogre64, and Quest 64 if you're a masochist. Rocket Robot on Wheels was a great platformer but nobody played it. FPSs were surprisingly fun to play on an N64 controller but that might just be a me-thing.
>Saturn
Panzer Dragoon, and... ????
It was the highest selling game in the series by the time that port was released, which was the tailend of that generation
Yeah but they weren't very appreciated in their time. People were kind of sick of 2D and the gaming landscape was such that even bad 3D was more exciting than good 2D.
Saturn
I agree, the Super Nintendo was also a unique moment where 2D gaming was perfected. As someone who just prefers 3D spaces I'm basically going to prevent the PS1 of course
The great debate
JRPGs are not RPGs
They barely even qualify for the G part
Ps1, my parents could only afford one.
Why are you flat out lying? N64 had arguably some of the best multiplayer games of any imaginable system to date, behind PC.
N64 for Banjo Kazooie
jeff gerstmann tried nights for 5 minutes and decided it sucked and i've been seeing his weirdly uninformed opinion parroted on Yas Forums ever since
throw in the fact that the sequel sucked and that there's this weird version of furries-but-with-NiGHTS and it's just impossible to talk about the game on Yas Forums
Would it be worth it to get a Saturn with that disc drive emulator?
I literally no nothing about it aside from Virtua fighter.
Saturn has arcade ports out the ass.
>jeff gerstmann
who
>FPSs were surprisingly fun to play on an N64 controller but that might just be a me-thing.
The N64 won FPS and platforming games hard, just about reached parity in racing games, and lost every other genre
Fuck off back to painting dwarf figurines you horrendously dull cunt
if there aren't specific japanese-only games that you already have in mind then no
Moar Pics like this.
>Saturn
kek what a joke
Depends. PS1 was more influential and important for the industry.
But Saturn was more fun and N64 had too few games.
Saturn, because it isn't blurry as fuck or have wobbling textures. Those saturn joypads are 2d bliss too.
it might be great for all I know but it looks like a visual clusterfuck imo
the chief fat fuck of the motley crew of fat fucks known as giant bomb
this was good performance in 1996.
Take the trip off, Shortstop.
IMO it had better sports games and wrestling games too. Kobe courtside was way better than any basket ball on ps1 and the 64 hockey games were for sure better too. Multiplayer party games also 64 wins a landslide with games like pkmn stadium, mario party, smash, mario kart ect.
Since Quake was on all three consoles we know how wrong that is
Saturn Tomb Raider is also famously embarassing
Play in 16:9 mode then. Saturn was the first mainstream console to support surround sound and 16:9 output.
>N64
No third parties, Capcom only released 3 games for it, 2 of which were ports.
>Saturn
Great amount of third-parties, arcade ports and RPGS, though most of them were only in Japan
>PS1
Shit ton of third parties from Capcom, Square, Konami, Hudson, Activision, Namco etc...
Only good third-party franchies N64 had were Bomberman, Goemon and Tetris. If you wanted Mega Man, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy etc... you had to go with PS1 or Saturn for the first two.
> N O P
what did he mean by that?
>different consoles excel at different things
Whoa...
That's definitely better
PS3
Kill yourself tripfag.
PS1 because I grew up with N64.
Oh and
>dreamcast
lol
>somebody unironically thought Saturn Quake looked good
ps1 only had shovelware and saturn is a joke
Heh, thats neat.
Your tendies are getting cold.
Why are people pretending that the Saturn is good now? People who I knew that had one said it had no games. It was a flop for a reason.
playstation 1
N64 may have less games, but most of them were masterpieces
>dreamcast
Notice how they keep bringing up games that never got localized? They're just parroting shit they heard a vidya reviewer say.
Because they weren't complete casuals. Saturn was THE import system
>It was a flop for a reason.
Yes, that reason was it had too many high-quality Arcade games that had gone out of style in the west.
I just want to fuck saturn-chan
