this game is gonna have some dlc?

probably.

would be a waste of resources when they can just work on part 2 instead

I love this game bros

I dont hate it in terms of story

I hated the execution

the ending could have been great if it wasnt THAT over the top. It was just way too much.
I get the portal, i get the whispr fight, i get the sephiroth figh

But jesus, be more grounded.

it was filled with soul

How much do you wanna bet they put the alternate timeline Zack in there just to sell a spinoff game for phones?

It was kino but obviously a few more close-minded people will hate it on principle.
I do think the lead-up to the big whisper harbinger fight could've been better instead of a literal portal at the end of the freeway. From the Sephiroth fight onward though the ending was great.

It's what every game should strive to be.

>Shitposters get game early
>meme hard and campaign to destroy the game's reputation, claiming everything about it is objectively bad

>shill dickriding e-celebs like Max finish the game weeks later
>obviously claim it's the greatest gflawsame of all time with no flaws
>now everyone likes the game

Why can't you beat a handful of e-celebs?

>now everyone likes the game
More like everyone actually finally played the game and likes it
All the hate campaign in Yas Forums was based on webms without context and straight up lies

Game is kino in multiple ways

AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

thats what B team is for. or out sourcing, like they did for the early gameplay footage in the 2nd trailer, where ppl were mad at tifa and barret looking weird. (and they did, same with cloud)

more like Yas Forumsermin and e-celeb faggots have zero impact on whether a game is kino or not

>the execution
Yes. Sephiroth amping up to endgame/Advent Children levels was likely intentional to show that he's actually way beyond where he should be due to the nature of the Remake's plot, but Cloud doing the same and being able to cleave trains in half during that scene was dumb.

Unless of course that too is deliberate for the plot, the characters have gotten way stronger in a far shorter amount of time in the Remake and are much better geared up than the original. That's probably because they're remembering.

I don't. I'm not even one of the people who say "I liked most of the game but the ending ruined it."

Most of the game is boring because despite it being visually pleasing (aside from some shitty textures here and there), it is mechanically underwhelming. And it doesn't help that most of the game is literally filler that is designed to waste your time. Instead of well-crafted thought provoking little stories they could've hidden all over Midgar, they give you checklists of monsters to kill, cats to find and NPCs who are utterly forgettable. The train graveyard section, the crane section, the airbuster section, climbing to the Shinra building - it all sucks ass. It's soulless crap. There is no love put into this game. I don't feel like anybody had any passion doing this. It feels like they were completely out of original ideas but still were unwilling to make it a shorter game or put more from the original source material in.

The problem is at the end of the day it was the final boss in a JRPG so it needed to go all out, because final bosses in JRPGs almost always go all out.

It's only when you look at it with the idea that it's only 10% of the story that's going to be told that it has odd pacing.

But as a stand alone game, that ending felt earned and felt natural to the game, imo.

Sadly, Red is a guest. But since you can watch him fight, does he look any fun?

I don't mind if they wanted changes, but time jannies, that ending ass pull, and Sephiroth all the time is going to fucking suck if they keep it up.

They already have a solid story to work off of, why ruin it? Just do some minor story changes you want.

>But as a stand alone game, that ending felt earned and felt natural to the game, imo.
It also felt incomplete because the final boss wasn't even beaten. What kind of stand alone JRPG let's the final boss escape unharmed and throws a dozen unresolved plotlines at you?

They were outsourcing the entire game at first, then fired them for sucking. The guys who make the Naruto Ninja Storm games were originally contracted with most of the project.

>everyone
Uh huh. Sure. Yup. No, no, we understand.

Yes, that's what it felt like to me too. They made you fight something like a god, because "that's just what you do at the end of a JRPG."

The ending only sucks if the next games suck.

Yeah I interpreted it as them getting a power up from the memories sucked out of the arbiters

Yeah i understand that, its the ending after all. If the ending was just a jenova fight into "ok we are leaving midgar", it would have been good, so i get it was over the top a little

But my point is that it was way too over the top. Like, for example, imagine if instead of going around over platforms and cutting through buildings (like before sephiroth fight), it was just one floating platform fighting the whispers, just to end with with the sephiroth fight 1v1 vs cloud. It would have been fine, OG ff7 was like that too. Imagine, the whispers were jenova, and sephiroth was...well...sephiroth.

Completely agree. The reason why they are doing it like this is because they want their cake and eat it too; they want to reference the original as if it already happened AND have cliffhanger endings.

They think that they will sell more episodes if each episode ends with a cliffhanger that makes people yearn for answers.

As much as I love Zack. Him being alive kinda fucks Cloud's character arc

>What kind of stand alone JRPG let's the final boss escape unharmed and throws a dozen unresolved plotlines at you?
The bad kind, but on the other hand when that final boss has to be the final boss for 2+ other games in the series, it's not like they CAN kill him or anything.
However, that's what the big Darkside boss was used for - giving us a boss we've worked towards the entire game that is big and bombastic and has that final boss feel to it.

The ending basically sets it up so they can do whatever they want in the next games. Cut locations, add new ones, stick to the OG story, etc.

There are a million ways to have such an ending without all the shit they put in there.
>leave Midgar
>suddenly Cloud has a headache
>Cloud finds himself surrounded by flames
>It's his hometown Nibelheim on the evening of the massacre
>Sephiroth goes around slaughtering everybody
>Cloud tries to fight Sephiroth but then Sephiroth becaones a giant nightmare version of himself
>Final Boss Fight with epic nonsense
>Cloud wins
>Cloud wakes up in a bed in Kalm.

it's cool it's like a second chance
>7 seconds what will you do with it
it's a remake

this.

Here's the thing though. All that stuff that you don't like? It's done.

Time Jannies?
Gone. We killed the arbiter of fate or whatever the fuck it was, they're not longer an active defense system for the planet, they're dead.

Sephiroth being all over the place?
Gone. The only reason he was all over the place in part 1 was because of the story changes with the time jannies and Marco, both of which were resolved in part 1.

For all intents and purposes, other than a few members of Avalanche being alive, the story is in the same spot as it was in the original when they left Midgar.

He says "7 seconds until doomsday"

>the final fight in the game is all in clouds head and doesn't allow you to use your entire party to it's full extent

Yah man, that would have been such a better way to do it than what they did.
good lord I can't believe you actually think that would be a better and more satisfying ending

It is called a $60 part 2.

And? They need a cliffhanger for part 2 and then another cliffhanger for part 3. Their strategy requires them to throw more and more curveballs at the audience so they buy the next episode to get answers to the questions they are having. So you know they will put in more shit.

If, for some weird reason, they do not do that, then all the added events in part 1 would be utterly pointless.

Except now they're free to deviate from the original plot in all sorts of new and retarded ways.

I hope they just make the next games more fun
Zack's back, so let us play as him
Seph is ambiguously a good guy so let us play as him
Genesis is probably running around somewhere so let us play as him
I know this would have been loads easier with a traditional jrpg since you don't have to create so many different playable characters, but it'd be incredibly fun to do
Just throw in super galactic god that everyone teams up against and up the fanservice to 11
There, it's done just make the fucking game now and don't take 5 years again

Hey the game clearly wasn't made for people like me so what do I know? You seem to be the target audience so knock yourself out.

Honestly they should've had it be a Phantom Ganon type fight where it looks like it's really Sephiroth at first but it quickly is revealed that its obviously something he conjured up to throw at Cloud&co, maybe even just a Jenova clone. But unlike Phantom Ganon make the fake Sephiroth fight actually be extremely difficult, the most difficult fight in the game in fact. Then the player is like "holy shit how hard is the REAL Sephiroth fight gonna be"

"The unknown journey continues"

Play Dissidia.

LOL

The game is kino from the point where you use the grappling hook behind Corneo's mansion, to the end credits.

youtube.com/watch?v=Rfgw7iDZ-bo&t=0s

DOOD broke it down to certain levels.

I have to replay it as I was angry playing last two chapters.

>people who disagree with me are doing so out of being inherently flawed people
opinion discarded.

obviously you're not a fan of change but a new take on the story that nobody knows how it'll go is great

Sounds good. I can get behind that.

But I don't buy the whole "we needed it a big boss fight so it had to be Sephiroth". Our main antagonist in this game was the Shinra corporation so I see no reason why the final boss could not be from Shinra. Make a robot that is more badass than all the other robots. Put some of Hojo's mutation shit in there and you have a mechanically biomonster. Add Rufus as the one who controls it or have Turks as support for it. Make it use some insane materia summon. Done.

They threw in Seph in there because they knew how popular he was and that's the only reason. They probably also put in all the shit we expect from him (meteor summon, AC shit, final confrontation) because we won't see that in the upcoming games due to Seph evolving into some BS.

Remember when people thought Pat was the "good" one?

>two and a half hours of literal WHOs talking about the game
why the fuck do faggots like you actually listen to this shit and link it

>They threw in Seph in there because they knew how popular he was and that's the only reason. They probably also put in all the shit we expect from him (meteor summon, AC shit, final confrontation) because we won't see that in the upcoming games due to Seph evolving into some BS.
To be fair in the original game you never really fight "Sephiroth." You only fight him in his transformed states.

>zero artistic vision
>no original ideas as is exemplified by the sidequests
>forced in a cliffhanger to sell the sequel
>"wow I am so excited for where this will go with this!"
Mission accomplished. The consumer are taking the bait.
