Sup faggots, thinking about improving my game and buying a fightstick. Do you use one Yas Forums and if you do which one is it?

I own an MLG arcade fight stick, since where I live usually every fight stick is way too expensive but these ones weren't.

Just a warning, don't buy a fight stick unless if you seriously feel like it will be a more comfortable way of playing. Sticks aren't necessarily the best way to play a game. Even keyboard can sometimes be better than a stick in some fighters. It depends a lot on the game you're playing.
For me I switch between keyboard, stick and pad depending on what I'm playing and what feels the most comfortable. Personally my reasoning for using stick is usually if the input reader sucks for other control methods (Ex. Melty Blood half circles don't work very well on keyboard) or if I need to churn butter/half circles/pretzels a lot (Ex. When playing grapplers with 360 motions or supers with double half circle inputs). Keyboard/hitbox is superior if you feel like you need to double tap directions a lot or switch between left/right very quickly which can be excellent in airdashers, assuming the input problems I stated above don't pop up in the same game.

Qanba Q4 and an old MadCatz SE fightstick.
Had to change the actual joystick on the SE though since the stock one was crap.
Q4 is real nice though.

Going from pad to stick will feel real weird at first and you're frankly just going to suck dick and feel like you never should have changed, but it gets better.

I've always had a hard time with stick, I use a fightpad instead. I feel like the Dpad gives me better control.

I've always wanted to build a custom fightstick though, with the nice plexiglass and everything.

/fgg/ should help

Forewarning buying an arcade stick wont make you better. In fact you'll go backwards briefly as you need to learn the new layout. They are super fun though and I do highly recommend them. I have a couple lying around. The Razer Panthera is actually really nice. I like it a lot. I also have a Hori RAPV and some $60 Qanba stick that was trash but it was my first stick so whatever. I just got it to play fightcade games.

It'd definitely worth going into the mid-high range rather than wasting your money on some cheap crap. You'll get a much better life out of it. I'm actually a big fan of the Sanwa buttons but honestly any name brand is fine for levers and buttons.

if you buy a fightstick don't buy a cheap one. also look into hitboxes also cause thats another good alternative. just practice and play more with a character you like and a game you like.

if you have any talent in woodworking I'd recommend buying the parts online and building one yourself.

Just play pad bro, don't fall for the fightstick or hitbox meme.

I use an old HRAP, the v3 or whatever.
Just get something from HORI.
