I thought it was good. Barret in particular was surprisingly fun

She did a good job, if not a little off tone at certain moments. Barrett was amazing.

As did I, but Jessie really only sounds like Futaba when she is overly excited.

Barret is great, Aeris is okay, tifa sonds 45 and Cloud sounds bored as fuck.

On the whole it was ok, but there is too much of a disconnect between the original and the English with Tifa - they dub makes her sound way less demure and soft spoken and adds a bunch of sassy lines that make her sound more confident in herself

So everything is as it should be.

Yeah no, none of the delivery of any of the dialogue in this game fits at all. Half of the time the music doesn't 3ven fit the mood and just makes it worse. They overdeveloped the female characters to have so much personality that it feels like they have no personality. Also the cast constantly says shit no human being would ever say in any situation FFVIIRs voice direction is exposition and whimsy the game.

I don't know. To me she sounds like she's on the verge of tears the whole time

the voice acting was generally ok but i couldn't get past all the autistic body movements characters made when they were talking. who the fuck moves like that in real life?

it's a japanese game so it has japanese mannerisms

There's absolutely no reason to listen to the english VA. They suck dick.

I must admit I would find reading subs to be a bit much with how much dialogue goes on during gameplay. I say this as a subs-only anime watcher who watches 4-8 hours of anime daily easily.

I've never played the original but the voice acting is great and Aerith is incredibly cute.

I think the real discussion should be about the OST.

Its great but its greatness relies on the original or iconic FF themes/tracks. The rap chocobo music is the type of fun remixes the game has, but the big tracks like Mako Reactor are just not as good as the original. The remake also loses moments of no audio except the background OST, instead having so much audio the OST is drowned.
