The last big JoJo game released in the West is almost half a decade old

What went wrong

ASB only got made for the anniversary plus anime hype and EoH was an attempt to cash in after ASB did surprisingly well that did worse because of the genre shift, platform having a smaller install base, and lingering resentment in Japan about hiw fucking terrible the costume unlock system plus other stuff was in ASB.

Since EoH had higher effort for worse results they changed to lower effort cash grabs like phone games and an arcade battle royale.

The series turns 35 in two years and Part 6 should be airing by then so maybe we'll get another decent anniversary game after next gen has established itself and Namco is looking to dip into the back catalogue of IPs it can milk again.

Cyberconnect2

JoJo got too popular in the west for its own good.

One of my dream games is a Yakuza-like open world game set in an AU Morioh.

this
the fandom is on par with sonic and undertale in terms of autism

>Yazuza style JoJo
Don't play with my emotions, I want something like that so bad

Based truth teller and JoJo slayer.

It's the opposite of sonic imo. The autists are fine, in this case it's the normie fans who are obnoxious.

I miss the pre-anime days of the Jojo fandom. At this point, I ignore the fandom and enjoy Jojolion at my own leisure. Most of the fandom is comprised of animefags, so they don't know anything about based Jojolion.

ArcSys is going to save JoJo games
Trust me

They're very good at visuals. My all time favorite series is .hack//, but after LINK idk if they can do gameplay or story anymore. LAST RECODE was enjoyable as a celebration though.

After the disservice they have done to FotNS with their spin-off I'd rather prefer if this doesn't happen.

I just want a Stand RPG

they shit the bed hard with ASB having an identity crisis both in gameplay and how they wanted to jew its players and EoH was an attempt to bandage the gaping wound it left in Japanese fans so at this point nobody is even sure if they're gonna make another jojo console game

also western jojo fanbase became cancerous as fuck once battle tendency started and everyone I knew pre-anime suddenly drifted away from it by part 3

I blame Joel for the cancer

Anime fightans and anime musou are a dead genre, they don't sell and the west hates them, at this rate I don't know how they're going to salvage these anime games, because almost everything flops.

Why do they keep making them?
Cheaper cost? Laziness?

arcsys fighting game fucking when?

>terrible the costume unlock system

Wasnt even that bad, sat with a friend and got all costumes and colors from ASB in like 3 afternoons

7>8>2>6>4>3>1>5

Cheap, and even though they doesn't sell a lot, nips still like em, so worst case scenario you still have local sales, I guess there is also the fear of trying something new.

Changed to genre to clusterfuck arena fighter. I know CC2 probably did that to do something closer to Naruto Storm, but this had none of the polish or accessiblity. 2v2 fights in confusing arenas full of hazards and platforms was just asking for a mess.

I do wish there'd be a new console JoJo game already. An RPG or Yakuza would probably be too much to ask. I'd be content with a 1v1 fighter with just the Jojos and Villains in modern graphics.

Part 5 anime killed the hype and the next part to be animated will be part 6.
That alone is enough to kill anyone hype until the anime of the part 7

>half a decade
Wow, 5 years, truly amazing

I've come to notice that people who always put part 5 at the bottom always put part 6 high up. It's almost like they're trying really hard to defend their shit taste by having part 5 as a scapegoat.

There's a Battle Royale JoJo floating around isn't there? Though I guess that won't see a Western release.

>not having part 3 at the bottom with part 1
trash opinion

Not me. I know that both parts are bottom of the barrel compared to the others. I still liked them

>Part 5 anime killed the hype
how so? Everyone fucking loves part 5

It's an arcade game and most arcade titles don't get localized these days, especially since it's a big setup of cabinets so you can play multi.

No Hftf 2

Heritage to the Future is still the best one even though ASB has greater cross-Part fanservice. 7th Stand User is apparently really well-made but I'm no RPG guy.

Not sure what you could do for the next big release that isn't just another fighting game with more side characters/Jojolion characters. Eyes of Heaven already did a big time travel crossover plot too. I feel like it'd need to either cover a single part and go into every piece of it, or tell a new story, and the latter is never gonna happen.

You say this but there are only like 5 petshop players who actually can play the character to his “overpowered” levels
