i assume you don't buy any sony products then considering your cloud saves are literally locked behind a subscription when everyone else has that for free. i can literally boot up any 360 game on my xbox one right now that's in the bc library that i already have a save game for on the 360 and uploaded to the xbox cloud saves and play it on the xbox one via that same cloud save, for free, forever. meanwhile sony deletes your cloud saves after 6 months if you don't renew your subscription again in their terms and conditions.

I'd much rather actually have the save as a file than locked to an account.

I want to like it more, but I keep running into things that I find very frustrating.

Constantly unequipping my guns, or swapping them out during a mission. Forcing me to walk through camp even as it get's more and more spread out. Challenges that have to be cleared sequentially, meaning I have to go back and do some things I've already been doing over again, or be stuck until I meet these arbitrary criteria.

I just wish it wasn't such a slog in the name of some form of realism.

For what purpose? Xbox offer free cloud save without having to get live.
Unlike PS+ where you need to sub to have cloud saves.

I like knowing I wont ever delete my saves and shit.

There's also the weird pelt distribution where you can stack 15 smaller pelts on your horses ass, but only 1 big one will fit, and if you want to bring that fucker all the way back or don't bother hunting until then.

Missions are way too rife with "drive here while listening to exposition", "shoot 6 people", "ride back while listening to more exposition". Also the auto-ride mechanic has shitty pathfinding, so I can't even really use their cinematic camera to just listen and watch.

Constantly locking mechanics and weapons behind unknown and arbitrary mission lines is absurd too. I found a legendary fish location a few hours before I was able to eventually fish, but even then I wasn't ALLOWED to buy all the lures or bait until a few hours, and a whole chapter after that. Similarly you can't buy a gun in the store unless you've passed the mission markers that let you get the next group of weapons. Even then you can't buy out the whole category of weapons until later.

And it's not like theres even an incentive for robbing or the like since you can do the 1 mandated bank job and just buy everything.

RDR2 is the best rail shooter I've played since Deadly Tide.

MS are obviously paying them for this and that will also increase the chances of people buying in game money and shit as well. it's a win-win for rockstar. gta 5 is already on gamepass. also lets not forget how close rockstar and microsoft are with timed gta 4 dlc. not even sony could get away with that.
