Persona 4 Dancing has a story but it isn't very good. It also feels like it has some sort of input lag.
Persona 3/5 Dancing has no story but it does have social links to interact in cutscenes with your friends. Each member gets 10 cutscenes. You can also visit their rooms and see what they're like. They also play a lot better than P4 Dancing.
They sell an Endless Night Collection that comes with all 3 games on PS4 for around $50. I think they're worth a try if you like the Persona music and characters. Customization is really neat too.

Persona Q was actually the first Persona game I finished. So... yeah, I learned more about those characters before I even played Persona 3 and 4, and Persona Q didn't ruin my playthroughs. As a matter of fact, PQ motivated me to play those 2 games, so I guess I should be thankful lol. Persona series some nice tracks, Secret Base is probably my fav dungeon track in the Persona/SMT/DDS/etc. universe, but Light The Fire Up In The Night is somethign special.
